He bought the car 4 years ago in May 2008, Its had 4 previous owners and comes with Toyota Handbooks inc lots of receipts, all old MOT's & stamped service book (Toyota service history upto 200 been serviced by myself each year since as i am a fully trained mechanic. It has MOT until 26th April 2013 and is taxed until 31st October 2012. It comes with 2x remote key fobs, locking wheel nut key & original carpet floor mats!.

The engine is the 2.0 16v VVTi and pulls really well, it can return between 30-40mpg. The gearbox is strong no crunching or whines & it has constant 4x4 system. We have a 1.8 inlet manifold, says so on the stamp on it so thats def a 1.8 inlet manifold, I bought it off here and it was sold as having a 2.0 throttle body on it, upon attempting to fit the 1.8 induction pipe we find that the TB end pipe hole is too big, of the pipe that is not the TB diameter, also the TB is the same size as the 1.6 one attached to the 1.6 inlet manifold we removed.

Two possibilities, the 1.8 induction pipe is the wrong one or the TB is the wrong one and is in fact a 1.6, can you fit a 1.6 TB to a 1.8 inlet mani?

Long story short and heres the stupid question, is the 1.8 zetec TB the same size as the 1.6 TB? I know your screaming just go and measure yours but im working nights at the moment and I want the facts from the good folk on here.

If they are the same size then where the fk did this large induction pipe come from?

Im pretty sure we have the wrong TB but just wanna make sure before changing bits and bobs.
