I used to polish and paint the running gear every few months as well, powerflow was polished as was the suspension, always looked great behind the rims.

The RS1600i seats where sold on and fitted to a mk3 RS Turbo Van and the RS 3 spoke Steering wheel went onto a mk3 Fiesta.

Do miss her loads, actually, thing I miss most about it is the noise of the exhaust, she over fueled and gave we spits of flames and sounded like a rally car, was fantastic!!

Loved it so much i payed £2400 for insurance in my own name when i was 20 years old!! (Thats a typical Northern Ireland quote as well now!)

I don't miss the fact she drank Super Unleaded like it was going out of fashion. :kill:

Sold about Halloween 2004 time to a local fella, with the rs2000 lights, skirts, spats, etc where never fitted.

And how the new owner has her, last I heard from him he hadn't washed it since he put the rim's on just after Xmas. ;(

Always think to myself I was mad, I had all the bits gathered up I wanted, mk6 electric mirrors, gti skirts and spats, had an rs2k bumper and lights but sold it for twice the price i got for it, internal boot release, ghia/rs2k center console...............

......but strangly the 406 has saved me a fortune on fuel AND insurance.

I was paying £1400 last year for the escort, when i transfered over to the 406, it came down to just over £1000 and got £400 posted to me in a cheque by insurance company.

Made for a nice selection of xmas prezzies!
