car wont start up

ok i have come across this problem when doing engine swaps to my car.

these problems on a number of ocations have been cured by different means.

1. check the fuses at thebattery, make sure they havent blown, 1 of them controls the fusebox/ecu side of things

2. check/replace the fusebox

3.ecu pats has kicked in, you need to get the correct key for the correct ECU

but does my 130ps ecu fit onto the rk wiring? its a gti car but the ecu is from a 95 130ps with internal pats and edis same as the other ecu's. i have all the right keys for the 130 ecu but not the gti one

so i found out that my cast ecu is plug and play with the gti wiring loom. so ive still got the same problem. i check all fuses and relays and replaced the fuse box already. everything is fine. theres even 12v going to the relays that controls ecu and injection but the relay doesnt actually click. theres connection between the other side of the relay and ground so the circuit is there but not being made. maybe i should earth the whole car myself to get a decent earth track because i heard escorts earthing is a bit tat. maybe a bad earth is my problem in the first place but it seems strange how eveything electrical is working.

it just seems like the ecu isnt getting or sending the right feeds as everything else is running.

wierd. im going to try and test all the connections and if i cant find it get an auto electrician. dammit.

Any ECU that is pin-compatible with a GTI ECU will have internal PATS and will require re-programming for your keys.

ive already done the keys. the ecu and keys were running on my previous escort which was a 95 mexico. ive been told elsewhere that the ecu i have, 95ab-12a650-ea (CAST) is plug and play with the gti wiring loom.

Are you sure there telling the truth?

It should be if it's a 95- ecu.

goddam cars. i love them really. im going to check all the connections. i think i might take an ecu apart so i can test that theres actually a connection inside the ecu rather that just at the pins. also im re-earthing all behind the dash and while im doing that to the boot as well and link it directly to the battery. will also test the common earths of the sensors to make sure there all good and apart from that if thats all fine the only problem is parts. i cant see it being engine parts because the engine was running along with the ecu and keys in my previous car. i have a load of transcievers to try. and 2 fuse boxes. all fuses and relays are good.

i even took out some relays and connected them directly to the battery to check they were clicking and they were.

actually something strange i noticed. i seem to have 12v at the terminals in the fuse box where the feed to the relay is that should make it contact and turn on. but instead theres nothing happening so that points to earthing problems or bad/no connections. but seeing as when meeksta had it it just stopped working its got to be connections.

its gonna be a B*stard to test through all the cables and connections with everything plugged in becuase it starts to link in other parts of other circuits which could make things seem like theres short circuits everywhere. lol. fun
