danposs86
Here we go.... Well, I have been saving for an Escort for a while, with the intention of getting a black Mk6 1.8 Si. Well, after searching eBay I found a few, none of which where in a condition I really wanted. One car which did catch my eye was a silver Si just down the road from me that looked very clean. Having seen other Escorts on eBay described as 'mint', I went to view expecting to see a rust bucket. Well, I was amazed to see just how clean it is. It does have a few tiny blemishes, and the odd stone chip, but apart from that it is the cleanest 10 year old Escort I have seen in a long time, so let me present my 1998 1.8 Si 16v. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6579.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6571.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6567.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6577.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6562.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6586.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6566.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6594.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF6596.jpg And so onto the 'project' part. I have plans to enjoy this car as much as possible, and the only way to do this safely is with track days. My plan is to get the handling set up with uprated suspension, struts and maybe even some poly bushes. As well as a few engine tweeks and brake upgrade, I will also try and source some light weight alloys and the odd bit of body styling (gti rep, some may find it boring, but it works). I will be doing this in stages, while still keeping the car suitable for every day use. First up I want to get a decent alarm with remote central locking and a new clutch, but that won't stop me keeping an eye out for some bargins to help my project move along. As with most projects though, money will be the key factor in how quickly it moves. Cheers for looking Will keep this thread updated.

danposs86
Forgot I took an engine back shot on my phone after giving it a clean. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/engine_bay.jpg All I need to do is get the rocker cover painter and give the manifold shield a clean up. meekstaaa
see the clip that holds the throttle cable to the water pipe by the oil dipstick? Get another one of those and use it on the fuel rail to hold up the cable. It'll stop making that groove when you paint it.
