Marcopolo Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Well I bought my car the other day, and I really need to put some new ICE in it. I still have my Kenwood head unit and Infinity 6x9's, which are from my old car there only 15months old. The sorter ICE install I'm thinking of doing is to keep it all looking standard with out making any holes in my car, I want to hide anything away from site.I'm thinking of upgrading all four ford speakers with FLI Integrator Speakers, I.E. to put 4inch in the front, and 6inches in the rear, with a small Vibe sub and amp in the boot. I'm not overly keen on subs though, but cant really see another way around it as I don't want speakers on show. Any ideas welcome please guys or girls? TommyT Posted April 9, 2008 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Just upgrade the speakers in the door cards and in the rear quarters (there is a how to on the homepage). As for a sub, you could always get a stealth box and put it in the side of the boot space so it is not sticking out like a sore thumb and you still get your boot. 1pukkadeal Posted April 9, 2008 Share Posted April 9, 2008 the fli speaker is a budget speaker and not very good,I would say go for decent component or 3 ways 165mm in the front doors with adaptors and upgrade the rear quarter speakers to ones like the JBL or get adaptors for there and fit same 165mm there too,amps and subs is a personal choice thing Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Stu Posted April 9, 2008 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Simply replacing the speakers in teh door is not a good solution. You need to sound-deaden it, make the adapters airtight, etc. - there is work involved to making it sound good (and wortwhile). You should always run an amp. What are the best component or 3 ways 165mm at the moment? I only have have £150 and a little more for a amp. BTW As I said before I still have my old Kenwood which I'm happy with. I got £150 for components and £50 for an amp, I could find another £100 for a sub (but not really into subs) so basically £300 for ICE, and I can get a shop near me to do the work for about £80, but I want try and do it my self this time around. I buy stuff off ebay all the time. so it will be a ebay buy for soundproofing and stuff cheap is good lmao! Dose it really better what music you listen to, when choosing ICE for your car?
