I'm sorry but all this 'frequency range' talk is bóllocks. There's nothing wrong with Vibe/FLI when you use them properly. Sure, they're not going to win any SQ competition, but they're certainly not 'limited frequency range'.

We have have to differ on that Stu ,After spending over 20 years fitting and listening to audio of every make under the sun from cheap tacky motor factors stuff to bose and nakamichi there is a huge mile wide difference in quality and frequency response ,I have fitted the vibe stuff which is a ok brand by the way but the fli range is the budget low quality end of the spectrum

Fair enough! So the INFINITY 6.5" Reference 6520cs 2-way component speaker? I'm asking because I had Infinity 6x9 and they had a good frequency range.

They are a good brand and I have never had any problems with them apart from installer error which is my job at ford to rectify

I hate subs grrrrrr lol!

I hated the whole boomin' subs idea, but once i added my old small 10" in a correctly sized box it changed my audio experience by miles, it made it so much better. If there's one thing you should do is get a sub you'll love it once you have, trust me :) If you go to any meets i'm sure i can show you what your missing :)

it all depends on the type of system you are aiming for power or sound or quality, sound proofing doors is all well and good it will kill alot of road noise escorts have a lot of rattles and shakes. i would sound proof it you have the money and time and are going to do the job 100% correct, but i would suggest replacing the door speakers for quality speakers (alpine) (jbl) etc (watch the size of the magnets on the rear of the speaker though) i was going to get mb qualt but they would hit the window, so i went for alpines, and the rears are not very important i would change them but don't waste your money on them, a 8inch/10inch sub will fill the bass notes nice, a 12inch is more better if you listen to alot of bass.... hope this helps.

p.s. no need to amp the speakers unless you are going more than 23 watts rms per chanel on a normal H/U

if you are restricted by a budget then go for the fli range as it a good basic speaker ,then when you get more into your music or desire a higher quality of sound, then you can go to the next level in time

12 subs and thats it.....

You'll be boomin'

you are a class act dave :thumb:

Thanks bowde001 that was some help! I'm thinking now to go for a set of JBL POWER SERIES P8652 5x7 SPEAKERS for the back and for the front a pair of ALPINE SXE-1750S SXE1750S COAXIAL 2-WAY SPEAKERS and for the boot erm I'm not sure. I could just put my old 6x9s and put them into a pair of box enclosures in the boot and a amp lol!
