eetaylog
you done a top job on that m8 cheers fella. Looks mint mate.I have rust very much like yours behind the bumper, except a lot worse on the passenger side, possibly beyond repair nothings beyind repair dude, ive seen cars that look like swiss cheese being brought back from the death. have a look at this thread about replacement arches and sills. theyre very cheap, its just the welding and respraying that costs the bucks (unless you know how to do it yourself). im thinking of getting mine done properly as the rust is just starting to creep back now. eetaylog
Its been a while since i did a proper mod to the car, and ive been after some decent brakes for a while, so when a 300mm setup came along from a fella down the road (EscortNreg) i snapped them up. Its been done a few times by people on here, so youll probably know the score, but the parts were 300mm st170 discs (drilled & grooved), Mk3 mondy calipers & pads, Mk1 mondy hoses. I ended up not using the hoses though as the bracket that attaches to the inner wheel arch was too small to hold them. I made up some brackets using some sheet aluminium, and thought about getting them welded on, but instead i just used the original hoses with copper washers to take up the slack in the banjo connector. Anyway, enough talking, piccy time... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/21031.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/21032.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/21033.jpg wadayathink? eetaylog
Wheels and brakes look top,the car as a whole is now as the escort should always have been Cosmetically yes (& brakes), but the GTi should have had a meatier engine as well. The whole thing was a bit lazy on Fords part imo, as standard it was just an Si with plastic surgery and a leather hat. Couldve been so much more. I'd say 2 litre but is there a point in that as its only another 15-20bhp...If anything it'd be an RS2000 lump.
