i THINK it distributes the power at a set voltage basically what it says, it regulates lol my experiance was my dads harley. had a spyball alarm which was basically chewing the regulators insides up and spitting them out had to be changed 3 times before he removed the alrm and its been fine ever since, is yours alarmed or got anything that requires a big voltage?a big sound system or something thats draining to much power either when running or turned off as it may be frying it.

Mate disconnect the small one and put the large one back on , if still draining, take both off it still draining then you got a bugger battery

That lil one goes to the fusebox i think.

ok but the large box fits onto the other red one so there wont b anywher to connect it to the battery, it shouldn b a naff battery cuz i only bought it saturday

right jus pulled all wires off from the pos terminal an volts shoot back up to 5.80v so something on ther is takin some serious power.lol

have you added anything to your car recently?sounds like you have some big permanent connection somewhere maybe a split wire touching the frame or something? your not getting any electric shocks from the car are you?

not very recently, i added black halos a few months back but didn hav any probs with them, an no electric shocks

Can be a naff battery mate, have seen it but dont sound like it

not sure if this helps u see whats what.

u basically need to take everything of and put back on the battery one at a time and see what cable is draining then u can work out what system is connected to said affecting wire

it seems like the red wire running down into the engine bay is drawing off most of the power

hmm have u got any footwell lights and any new bulbs, also, check that the internal boot light goes off ie pull down your rear passenger seat see if light is on..

Brilliant advice, mine did that in my old escort. Light was on all the time in my boot, so my battery died very quickly.

no footwell lights and no bulb in the boot so dont see that bein a problem, as sed in the beginnin the only thing i noticed was the heated front windscreen switch stayed on wen i switched the car off, but ive disconnected that from behind the switch and thats the only thing i can think would be up with it, its so frustratin not knowin wot im doin, lol
