hamspeed Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 As of the 1st November 2008, it is illegal to sell number plates that do not comply with the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001. For example, plates with the VRM (Vehicle Registration Mark) mis-spaced, in a non-standard font, colour, background or with a slogan or message printed on them. In order to comply with the British Standard (BS AU 145d), each number plate must be permanently and legibly marked only with the following: a) The British Standard Number.b) The Name, Trademark or other means of identification of the number plate manufacturer or component supplier; andc) The name and postcode of the supplying outletLegal or fail! Will your friends be amazed by such an optical illusion? Will the carbon fibre font be lighter and stronger? Does it even look like carbon fibre? Obv, no ghosting, rear pix etc... on the mot side of things, the kite marks at the bottom of the plates are only compulsory for vehicles made after 2006. Squiz Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 Pretty simple really the only legal plates are what cars come with from main dealers.Owt else is illegal and you can get nicked for.they all look crap as well.
