2nd best  shure the turbo was the best ! but still calibras are shat and id raver walk :thumb:

never personally came across a turbo, but if it was based on the 2L.... Id have still chose the V6 as better

any v6 vauxhall are wnak as i have had one and as for the turbo if i was still driving a vauxhall calibra/cavalier (there the same)i would have the turbo

apart from the cav being half the weight of the calibre you mean?

dont matter i have had both and a v6 and would still have the turbo

turbo... as in? (and are you in anyway thinking of parting with it? :D ).... Ive only just helped a mate garage his cav 4x4 turbo after the head gasket erupted and despite its motor being quite the impressive pulling machine I have no doubt it would have lost a good chunk of the performance offered up in the cav if the same block was in my old calibre, top end my V6 easy matched his turbo (surpassed Id say), take off the turbo had the advantage partly due to the 4x4 partly due to the turbo obviously.

the difference and reason I prefered my V6 to his Turbo was at high Revs and high gear the calibre had plenty of torque still left while the turbo was beginning to wain, not to mention the forementioned weight difference, cav was easily lighter than my fat arsed Cal and the cavs engine would have had alot more work to do to even get a portion of its performance it had in the cav if it was in the calibre.

honestly u dont really no wot yr talkin about! for 1 calibras dont way any more than a cavalier(look it up) they are based on the same platform so how would it weigh loads more! the v6 was always known to be the best calibra because of its reliability and speed but the turbo was far quicker and u can get nearly 300bhp for not much nmoney or effort! theres no way that the calibra in the pic is an ecotec its either an 8v or 16v and by the looks of the cloth interior it will be an 8vwhich is still quicker than any escort gti! and the redtops are as quick as an rs2000! they are a big heavy car but they are better to drive than an escort and more comfy/spacious! u should stop knockin these things and realise tht yr 1.6 escort aint ever gonna be as quick!

its needed really! if sum1 says a v6 calibras wank yet has a 1.6 escort is clearly out of there mind! ive got a 1.8 escort now and it aint a patch on my old redtop! and there as cheap an easy to fix as an escort and a real bargain now! even the turbo u can get for £1200 n then yr in cossie territory! all in all they a good cheap reliable cars are better than escorts im afraid to tell you boys! the only 1 tht is as good is a rs2000! imo

have a look and get yr facts rite next time

there u go mate scroll down and u will see that the cav turbo is slightly heavier than the calibra turbo and there eactly the same car and engine!

so where u get 200kg from is a bit weird perhaps yr talking out yr arse!

the V6 Cal came in at over the weight of a turbo, those stats are for the 2L turbo??.... V6 engine is a monstrous size compared to the it??

nah m8 wrong once again go on tht link and go to front wheel drive cars and u will clearly see that the v6 weighs bout 30kg less than the turbo! obviously if you had a base 1.6 cav then a v6 cali is gonna weigh more! you honestly dont know nothing so you should probly stop comenting on this thread!

I have only browsed over this thread and i know nothing about Vauxhalls but as said surely the 2.0l Turbo was the best, from what i hear alot is that its a fantastic engine, hence the reason it is used in many conversions....

Plus a 2.0l Turbo Calibra would absolutley rape a V6 Calibra.....

Also i may be wrong but im sure the 2.0l Turbo Calibra also has more torque than a V6 Calibra, can any Vaux nuts clarify that ?
