EscortNreg
I have not used it for ages but after all the hype i decided to go out and buy modern warfare 2 So i swithced on the system and had a shed load of updates.. So i ploghed through them all. Now every time i try to play MW2 it crashes, i have not even got onto the bloody game yet! First time it crashed on the startup, then when reading the HDD then at the end of the credit intro and now it has crashed at the start up again... Its not just the game crashing though, its the whole system crashing!

LiamGTR
Damn! I always get that wrong! So not to go off topic:Have you tried any other discs? That way you will know if it's the disc of your PS3
Craig855S
Try other games, then try another copy of MW2 if those work then its the game, if it crashes with any game in then give it a clean out with air duster. When it crashes is the lght on the front glowing YELLOW?

wwwd
One of the recent updates caused problems in a lot of PS3's and would 'lock up' all the time - it was a software issue and would mess up the whole system. Google it, you should get a lot of information about it. It happened to my brother, and he complained to Sony and got a free replacement.

I think it was just the disk as when i changed it for a new one it started working.. i belive my software now is 3.01 or something like that. wwwd
Well I'm just telling you what I've experienced. If your PS3 is unusable then contact Sony and give them hell. My brother threatened them with all sorts (going to Watchdog, taking them to court) before he got a free replacement. If you don't complain hard enough they'll just palm you off. The whole system is crashing, so unless you leave your console on 24/7 then it's a software problem and Sony are liable. Don't be scared to complain because they're a big corporation.
