SteveB
ONIS is the same board but with the PATS components installed and flash in place of the eprom. As said, it's EEC-IV 100% guaranteed. I can also confirm that cars fitted with ONIS do not have a gauge sender so must get the signal via the ECU. Quite where this leaves you I don't know. Stu
Pin 14 on the 60 pin EEC-V ECU's drives the temp gauge on the dash, so perhaps this oddball EEC-IV does the same. Give it a go!
webbysdad
Pin 14 on the 60 pin EEC-V ECU's drives the temp gauge on the dash, so perhaps this oddball EEC-IV does the same. Give it a go! Thanks for that info guys. Will have a look and see if there is a wire on pin 14. Looking at the "How to" about installing digi instruments it gives the impression that the temp gauge will work with the usual 2nd sensor ok, so will try it. If you have access to diagrams, perhaps you could see if there is any indication what the signal to the temp gauge is from the ecu please? Cheers. Stu
Yup, definitely EEC-IV as SteveB said.
webbysdad
My son has had a look at his ecu and there is a white/red wire in pin 14, so we will get it out and see if it connects to the temp gauge! If it does and the gauge will react to a resistive earth correctly we will go down the route of putting in the second sensorand wiring to suit.He has got a loom from a "V" reg finesse that has analogue gauges which has a connection to the second sensor so might try that to see ifthere is a connection that way. Will post up the result of these tests and the final configuration on here.If possible, Stu or SteveB, if you have access to a Mondeo diagram, could you see if there is a connection from the ecu to temp gauge please? Thanks for your info and help guys, much appreciated.

webbysdad
Thanks for the diagram Stu. We will chase up the wiring later. Let you all know how this pans out but it may take a few days due to circumstances and demands on my time. Cheers.
