Hi Guys, Well at last we have found time to try and get the temperature gauge working! Mothers Day too!! Needless to say,

Mother wasn't too impressed but needs must...!!!

Anyway, we have made some progress but still have one or two probs which we are hoping the bright guys on here may

be able to shed some light on. We managed to identify the white/green wire from the dials plug, pin 25, which goes to

a pin on the front connector on the fuse box. Doesn't seem to connect to the only white/green on the ecu plug, pin 5.

We then checked conditions on that wire and found there was no battery or earth apparent. Then connected the dials

and found there to be a battery on the wire from the dials, so connected the second temp sensor to the white/green.

Switched on, started the car and watched, nervously to see the needle move up the scale and stop about in the middle.

Yippee!!! Stopped the engine, left for a minute and switched on. temp gauge went up to mid-scale again. Started the engine,

the gauge went to full-scale, the engine died and the gauge went down to min reading. This has been happening when

starting hot before we tried getting the temp gauge to work. We thought there may be something coming from the

fuse box end of the white/green so cut it and tried again. Same thing happened. If you keep the revs up for a few seconds

the engine keeps running and then ticks over ok but the temp gauge stays on the min mark and refuses to move.

We thought the ecu temp sensor signal might be missing but a continuity check looks ok on both wires (to ecu,pin 7 and earth)

Sorry if this is a bit rambling but if anyone gets to the end without being TOTALLY confused and can shed some light, please do!!!!!
