Going to the rolling road meet on sunday 7th and see what i'm running atm, and then try and go again after the mods. really annoying having this pile of nice bits just sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. stevmo3691 Posted January 21, 2010 Author Share Posted January 21, 2010 My new flat blade wipers came - they're the same as the ones already on it which are not too good.However I am now getting some lovely 16" mondy alloys off a nice chappy on here - projectrs2k - collecting on sunday just got to decide what colour to paint them as they need re-furb. same as GTI ones on the car or a different colour (have couple of cans of vauxhall star silver from my vectra) and some peugeot steel grey from my 106, actually have alot of different paint - i should paint things i buy this stuff for any suggestions on wheel colour and anyone want some GTI alloys, recent refurb (by me) with good tyres all round Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anthrate would look good.you mean anthracite?thought a dark colour wouldn't work with it being a dark coloured car, might make wheels look a bit small. stevmo3691 Posted January 27, 2010 Author Share Posted January 27, 2010 well my dad wont let me buy anymore paint other than more for the bodywork as one of the rust repair on rear arch (that he did) is bubbling up again so need to re-do. that and spoiler, rubbing strips, skirts and spats. as a result my colour choice is hammerite hammered black, vauxhall star silver or the colour i used on the GTI wheels. probably dont have enough black anyway. stevmo3691 Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share Posted January 31, 2010 good news. me and my dad worked through the night and got the 15's rescued downside is that i was planning on using last night to work on the 16's so they've been put on hold. going to get the tyres and valves removed so i can get rid of all the corrosion. However i have worked out i will be using 205/50/16's on them as i had to put 2 of them on last night and the 2 14" steelies i had in the garage while i worked on my 15's and they fit perfectly. also today i had to change the fog light bulbs as one had blown (they were only 6 months old ) and changed the escort and 16v badges off the boot to match the font type for the gti badge. might end up re-doing as i dont think its straight and i missed some of the glue off the tailgate (don't do this in the dark) will be getting the transit front fogs and LED fog light bulbs in the near future.
