Stu
I'm not sure i'd be a fan of the M3 rear lights on it. I doubt it's much different in cost to turbocharge than a zetec either, most engines cost roughly the same price. Of course, every close-knit community has their own cowboy conversions, which is perhaps what you're looking at.

Of course, every close-knit community has their own cowboy conversions, which is perhaps what you're looking at. I'll check the e36coupe forums to see what the M3 lights look like on that colour, but I think they'll improve it. Personal opinion, I suppose. It seems cheaper and there seems to be a wider selection of off-the-shelf parts for turbocharging the M42. It's a distant and unlikely dream at the moment, but thanks for your input..... McRic
Looks a tidy base, as you say it's a cheap motor so no point spending a fortune on it. Get it clean and concentrate on rebuilding the ncb!
escortjas
Good to hear you're back on the road. I'm sure with a decent scrub-up and a few subltle tweaks that'll turn into a very nice motor.

The 3 series saloon is one of the few saloons I like too! Except insurance I've found it cheaper to run E36 BMWs than mk6 Escorts

I'd imagine mine is low-medium, but I'm not sure. Does that even make a difference if you're 3rd party?

wwwd
Lovely car, once you go BMW you won't look back. If it's anything like the E46 then it's a joy to drive. What's the mileage and service history? If it's been looked after you won't have many worries, the engines are bulletproof. Only recently saw your crash pictures too, glad you survived. Lee_2f2f
Once you reach a certain age Sid, it's Mostly cheaper to always be fully comp, that is not based on the Postcode. The reasons for increase in premium is; Postcode, Crime rate, Rate of car, Driver convictions, Named drivers etc etc. But yea, the reason fully comp is cheaper for you Sid is down to your age.
