Manchester Street Drift - 17th + 18th April

Was a pretty good day, i did put a notice in the events for you guys but for some reason it went to review???

I git there about 1, missed a bit of the qualifying but managed to see the all the other runs, single and duel. I took the kids along with me and they loved it, all the cracking and popping of exausts and burning rubber. We stood next to the warm up area where the kids were warming there tyres doing burnouts and doughnuts. One of the cars were right next to us and when he started doing a burnout all the popping and banging blew his exhaust tip clean off. The acceleration these cars have is very very impressive im not that surprised really considering the size of the turbos they were running you were allowed to look round the pit areas where i met and had a bit of a chat with Shane Lynch (the tattoed one from boyzone) nice guy, he was there with his car but was'nt competing, just using the day to shakedown his car. There was a little car show with a few nice Lambo's, GTR's and other Jap machinery, they also had a monster truck on show which we never saw but did hear it do a parade lap, that was loud. We watche the motocross freestylers do there thing then went home. All in all a good day out, if they come back i'll be going again

i was there from around 11 till the last of the battles

 

seemed to drag a little bit between the drifting itself and there wasn't as many cars on show as i expected

 

but the drifting and the battles were good with the cars scraping the rear bumper off teh barrior infornt of us
