Little update :thumb:

Carbon fibre look number plate surround - got for FREE (new number plates coming soon - thinking the metal euro style or old black/white)

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/Escort%20Cabriolet/IMG_1333.jpg

Fitted new set of spot lights (came with car - looked cleaner and neater than original set)

Also changed the main headlights as O/S had condensation & N/S had a cracked clip so wasn't holding grill in - picked up FREE from scrapyard

Grill swapped while I prepare and spray the RS one :))

Fitted a different stereo that I had - one that came with car was OK but couldn't adjust music levels (bass/mid/treble/balance etc etc) Being a DJ this was annoying  New one looks a lot nicer at night!

While changing lights over I thought I might aswel put a new set of xenon ice blue bulbs in - IMO much better than standard yellow bulbs. Nice colour and bright without being blinding!

Have also fitted a Puma gearknob, will get pics in day time.

Mechanically everything running fine, except fan is constantly on. Will be sorting this in the week. Engine also seems to be very hot all the time (even on short journeys), but temp never high on gauge so thinking this isn't an issue ?( May sort out once fan issue sorted?

Still can't get over how nice the motor drives. For a lowered car its very smooth and hugs the road like its on rails!

Will keep the updates coming :D

Got a Puma gearknob in mine, they look the nuts :)

Looked at one very similar to this last week, Green with the RS kit on, full of rust though which was disappointing :( funnily enough he's a DJ too - he pointed out the scratches all over his dashboard were down to his DJ equipment!

Looks good tho, good luck with it, hope to get one as good as that soon :thumb: just have to settle for my sub-standard Calypso for now!

Thanks for the comments, something will come up for you, probably when you least expect it! Thats what has happened with me! :thumb:

UPDATE:

Had a stroke of luck today at work...a Fiesta came in all kitted out with mods here there and everywhere...including a set of Recaro front bucket seats! Bit dirty but no rips or tears so guess where those seats have gone! ;)

Swapped my seats over on my tea break, will clean up and post pics up later.

Love the perks of working at a scrap yard! Freebies all day long love it. Oh yeah, also got a new set of locking wheel nuts and wheel nuts. Mine are currently all rusted and have no lockers on! Will sort that when i get home!

Also, just got back from holiday and car was filthy (neighbour has been cutting her trees down!) so gave the motor a quick clean and put my EVO stickers on rear windows :thumb:

Small update:

Laguna Splitter going on tomorrow :thumb: can't wait, will make the front end look much better IMO

Roof cover in the post (from danj8608)

Grey rocker cover in the post (from danposs86) - cheers lads

Lexus lights in garage - going to try colour coding the inside to match body - may or may not work, worth a try i think!

Pressed Euro plates on the way :))

Also looking to spray up the strut brace...tart the engine bar up a little. Undecided on colour, thinking yellow ATM

Plan to get rid of the wood effect dash parts too...still deciding what to do with them, and still need to spray my RS grill and rear surround!

Few things to keep me busy! Will get more pics up soon! Thanks for looking lads and lasses!

German plates on this site are NOT UK road legal.

Uk law states number plates must be of plastic construction with white front and yellow rear with the space between the last number and the first letter of the end part being at least twice the gap between other characters. must be of specific font type and size, must be clearly visable (i.e not dirty) and have manufacturers post code at the bottom.

only exception to sizing requirements are motorbikes and jap imports but still must be certain size letters, spacing and font type.

only flags that may be shown are euro, union, st georges and whatever the welsh and scots all there ones :D

annoyingly police round here are too keen on that type thing as those who watched old series road wars, it was based in thames valley where i live, and it was one of the 'pro-active' units that pulled me for going past their 'high power' unmarked vectra at 95 mph

glad to help, car looks fresh

Thanks mate :thumb:

Are "Pressed Euro Plates" legal? Since reading your post i've found this site:

http://www.theplateman.com/home.htm

Thinking of buying "L18 MTP" and getting them made in Euro Pressed Plates

Ignore that ^^^ Just read the FAQ on their site :nutter:

Also L18M isn't available, only L17 or 9.

Double Fail.

Yeah thats the site I used. I think they look nice. I was going to stay legal with the plates but i thought sod it, if and when i get tugged i'll just say they came with the car and will be happy to change :innocent: Got plates for shows then.

I knew most of that...but really?

I DJ in West Thurrock every Saturday and I have passed the 'Interceptors' a few times thinking about it... :nutter: and you doing 95mph past an unmarked, naughty naughty haha

Make sure you stick some pics up when they come, have you went for the anti-theft border things? Looks like i'm buying a private reg after all and these will go well nicely (until I get pulled and asked to put the originals back on)

Edit:

Actually Fcuk getting euro plates mate, you get points now for having a illegal plate! A few years ago my freind used to just keep original plates in the boot and when he got pulled the cops used to ask him to put the originals back on, that was it!

Points!? Thats BS! For real? I assumed would be slap on wrist, change them over! I'm sure there's a member on here with euro plates, police looked at them and didn't say anything ?(
