Show me a decent Puma that isn't totally screwed or sold within the trade for £250?

Your average Puma is worth way more than your average Escort. I spent ages looking at Puma's and you'd pay £600+ for examples with rust and quite high miles. My 2.0 MK6 on 85k and in decent nick only cost that. And as a driver's car, the Puma Pees all over the Escort. My MK6 isn't a patch on my girlfriend's boggo 1.7 Puma, it's twice the car; handles better, feels more willing, better steering, better gear shift, it just goes on and on. It may be based on a Fiesta, but the MK4 Fez is a decent handling car, and far better in Puma form. People raved about the Puma's chassis when it came out, I don't remember them doing the same for the Escort, unless you're from a different planet to the rest of us?

Just cos you can buy them cheap, doesn't mean they're worth Fcuk all. I bet you could buy Escorts for less...

Anyway, spamming over!

Spamming appreciated ;) anything that helps sell the car :) And id agree, I love the way it handles etc etc.

Im only wanting to swap because im struggling to get cash :(

I am open to more than just escorts aslong as it mirrors something similar to the value of the puma.

Pity ford didnt make a bigger 4 door ford puma :P If everything handled and drove this well would be alot more ford owners out there :drunk:

mines under priced by bare.plus its going to have over 13 months mot and tax so price will be going up but i might een keepit and 2.0ltr.puma;s are girly cars and i was only going to give it to my missus and then i would get her corsa.lol

Its a fast "girlie" car then. Would out accelerate and out corner escorts. Only reason i want one is because i need something bigger and with more potential.

my mate has a silver 1.6 andive beat him it does handle better tho

The 1.6 is crap. Thats why they swap the 1.6 in the zetec s for the 1.7... and your mate cant be a very good driver then can he? My friend drives a 1.8 zetec converted mk4 fiesta with 140bhp and upgraded suspension, roll bars and I keep up with that no problem at all (and hes a good driver), infact I out accelerate, only thing his fiesta does better is out brake me because hes using 280mm v6 brakes.

Show me a genuine "buy it at this price" working/low or no rust/taxed and MOT'd/ for less than £800 which is as low as they go unless you are really desperate to shift it.

You obviously dont know much about puma

Puma's are far superior to an escort end off. Rot box? No more than any escort or other ford, hairdressers car.. maybe if you get the 1.4 or 1.6 but the 1.7 is in a league of its own. Call it gay if you want, if you want a mans car go buy a volvo, i don't, so I have a puma

at what point did i say that escorts and other fords wasnt a rot box? all fords are rotboxes i had fords when i first past my test wich at the time it hought was awsome turned out to be unreliable heaps just like any other! had many years of another manufacturer made vehicle and had a great time was forced to sell it fo reasons of my own. so went bk to a ford to find oh yes an unrelaible heap of poo. and have now fcuked it off aswell ! so at nooo point what so ever did i say my escort was not a rot box come on if u look hard enough u can find the show us your motor threads ffs. all fords are rubbish tbh just some i would give my time to and others like escorts and pumas i wouldnt cuz there heaps. and i know when u read this your gonna come back with " i drive a capri and its brilliant " if there so brilliant, one why is it only a weekend toy, two why do they end up having to be rebuilt most of the time and three why the fcuk did ford stop making them? think that answers your question and as for pumas they must be great as they had a megga long production span didnt they :nutter: un like the escorts 32 yr one from 1968 -2000 and some are later reg than that

All i know is... My puma is brilliant to drive, its fast, it handles brilliantly as standard..... as you said.... Most fords are rusty. And to come back at where this all started....

You cant pick a good puma up for less than £1000.... and i think you've gone a bit off topic now.

im just guna say if ya puma is that good why you wanna get rid of it?

By highlighting that comment, and then replying again, you have further proved the point.

So it's based on a Fiesta...and? The Fiesta had a great chassis, so the Puma had a great chassis. Why do you think so many people are building hot MK4/5 Fiesta's these days? Why was the Racing Puma so good I wonder?

Yes they rust, along with every other Ford up until the end of the 90s, and most other manufacturer's efforts to be honest. They were so rubbish that people raved about the chassis when it was released, and how willing and eager it felt.

Just because a car rusts, doesn't really make it rubbish. Cosworths rust, but they became legends, as well as all the old skool Fords. Every car company suffered rust problems. Seen Sidrick's BMW threads? They rust, does that make the E36 M3 rubbish too?

Anyway, good luck to the bloke. I won't continue to spam, you're entitled to your ridiculous opinion.
