Puma's are far superior to an escort end off. Rot box? No more than any escort or other ford, hairdressers car.. maybe if you get the 1.4 or 1.6 but the 1.7 is in a league of its own. Call it gay if you want, if you want a mans car go buy a volvo, i don't, so I have a puma

at what point did i say that escorts and other fords wasnt a rot box? all fords are rotboxes i had fords when i first past my test wich at the time it hought was awsome turned out to be unreliable heaps just like any other! had many years of another manufacturer made vehicle and had a great time was forced to sell it fo reasons of my own. so went bk to a ford to find oh yes an unrelaible heap of poo. and have now fcuked it off aswell ! so at nooo point what so ever did i say my escort was not a rot box come on if u look hard enough u can find the show us your motor threads ffs. all fords are rubbish tbh just some i would give my time to and others like escorts and pumas i wouldnt cuz there heaps. and i know when u read this your gonna come back with " i drive a capri and its brilliant " if there so brilliant, one why is it only a weekend toy, two why do they end up having to be rebuilt most of the time and three why the fcuk did ford stop making them? think that answers your question and as for pumas they must be great as they had a megga long production span didnt they :nutter: un like the escorts 32 yr one from 1968 -2000 and some are later reg than that

I don't know why the f**k i'm replying to this but hell got nothing better to do.

Firstly, read your post then my reply. Your, right you didn't say escort and other Fords were rot boxes. You dissed the puma by saying it was a rot box, and my point is that its no more of rot box than any other Ford, so why diss a puma for it.

Secondly, I don't care how many fords you've had or what you've had inbetween. You say all Fords are rubbish, so what the fook you doing on a escort enthusiasts site?

3rd - Quote "i know when you read this your gonna come back with " i drive a capri and its brilliant "" - Your wrong, why the hell would I bring up a Capri when the topic is about Pumas and Escorts?

3a - So off topic but since you brought it up and to educate you - they stopped making capri's in the 80's as everyone wanted Turbo's and the Capri couldn't compete with the newly released Sierra Cosworth. It was the biggest selling car of its generation.

3b They stopped making Puma's because there was a new fiesta being released and as the puma was built on the same producation run as the old fiesta so couldn't be continued.

4 - Don't see relevance of escort production run, PS your comment on later reg escorts has zero relevance on production run, they still stopped making them at the same time, a late registered Escort was still built at the same time as the others.

Finally, if you reply with more crap I won't be replying, so don't bother.

You say all Fords are rubbish, so what the fook you doing on a escort enthusiasts site? i have just sold my escort and iam still abig part in this site cuz its myself and a few friends who travel the country to shows to keep that side of it goin!!

3rd - Quote "i know when you read this your gonna come back with " i drive a capri and its brilliant "" - Your wrong, why the hell would I bring up a Capri when the topic is about Pumas and Escorts? cuz i put all fords ar rot boxes!! as i am rite

3a - So off topic but since you brought it up and to educate you - they stopped making capri's in the 80's as everyone wanted Turbo's and the Capri couldn't compete with the newly released Sierra Cosworth. It was the biggest selling car of its generation. Was the zakspeed capri not twin turbo!! and therefore capris had the potential of being turboed and could of been on production for longer! as the yb engine is just a pinto 205 block with a 16v head onit and omg!!!! thats the engine wich was in a capri!!! and also the seira wasnt a sucsess till they brought out the cossie as every one still loved the cortina!!!

3b They stopped making Puma's because there was a new fiesta being released and as the puma was built on the same producation run as the old fiesta so couldn't be continued. so for about 5yrs the fiesta and pumas wasnt buil simultaniously!??? oh obviously they stopped building fiestas for this time to make way for the puma!! erm...no!

lol. this is all just repeating its self now, although im only trying to change my car rather than start a arguement on who said what and who thinks they know more.

thanks all those who have been half decient to stick up for me and as for those who go nothing better to do and just try and start more arguements, grow up and find something better to do.

Some of us don't reply because we have better things to do than sit on a car forum constantly perhaps?

My first thought when I get home from work isn't "Ooh I'd better make sure I reply to that topic on Evo!" I do have slightly better things to do with my time.

Interestingly, I know a whole lot of people with Fords that aren't rusty in the slightest, so I'm not sure how water tight your arguement really is to be honest. Every car produced up until the end of the 90s had the potential to rust, be it a Ford, Vauxhall, Merc, BMW, anything. But being a mechanic, surely you'd know that? Or perhaps that wouldn't suit your arguement, so you neglect to mention it.

At the end of the day, the Puma has always been well regarded as a driver's car, and the view of one grease monkey from the midlands isn't really going to do much to harm it's reputation.

This is a Ford enthusiast's forum, and so far, all I've seen you doing here is slagging Fords off. Sounds like you're on the wrong forum :thumb:
