DaweV6
this is the single worst experience of my life and i am absolutely gutted. Well in that case you had a really good life. Cheer up, it's "just a car", nothing horrible really happened. I hate trashing something I've been pampering and upgrading for months and then it's all gone in a spiffy... Feel useless... But then you have to realize that it's a opportunity for learning and moving on to brighter tomorrows. As long as the problem ccan be solved trough monetary means - it's not such a big problem. in the mean time i got to get rid of the silver one so i have room for it I'll take the silver one of your hands for free ! p4u1
ooch shame that, why did u use your brakes at such low speed you should of only really needed to take ure foot of the accelarator or used your gears to slow the car

HIGHTOWER
Very easy to say how something should be done after the event when it's gone wrong! My mondeo is crap in this weather! That might have something to do with it being on 18" wheels, I dunno, but the escort was miles better in snow!

I might get myself some 15's for winter use for the new one as these will still fit over the V6 brakes i plan to fit.
Craig855S
The backroads are getting more and more dangerous as time goes on. It hasnt snowed here for a week now but the snow that fell a week ago in my street, the car park at work, and an alleyway by my bank (that the missus took a fall on yesterday) have compacted and even have areas of sheet ice (where some has thawed into water then re-froze into smooth ice) I almost understeered (slid for 15 feet and got quite close to it) into the BMW that parks on the corner of my street a couple of days ago (at the same speed ive been turning into the road the entire time the snow's been on the road) Engine braking FTW though, keep the car in a low gear and lift of the accelerator to slow the car down.
