Connecting laptop to xbox360

Right im trying to work out how to connect my laptop to my xbox360 tried last night as i wanted to transfer some songs over. the last time i wanted to do it i could put songs onto the memory stick then memory stick to xbox and do it that way but cant seem to do that now it wont read it.

i put all the settings on the laptop to share but still my xbox still says pc not found. i havnt gone throu windows media center

any ideas?

You will need to set up sharing in Windows Media Player, assuming your using Windows 7/WMP12 Click 'Stream' and then 'Turn on media streaming'. There may be more options after that, but I don't use media streaming.

The usb device that you want to use must be formatted in FAT 32, xbox's cannot see NTFS formatted devices.

Also you cannot copy directly from a pc to xbox, only stream
