Got more done today.... Almost chopped it up this afternoon its just bodge after bodge think i had me rose tinteds on the other week.

Started with the back lights which are wired in by crimps galore going to have to rip them out and rewire it as it looks to be a mk5 loom spliced into b/6 rear plugs but the crimps are not tights and keep causing nightmares. Trip to the breakers monday :(.

It followed with it seeming to not have the track rod end tightened properly so took the rim off and tried to tighten it, it was fully tight :( Tried rocking it still movement but the balljoint was new? Oh balls the hubs ovalised :( So after an hour of swearing my arse off i stopped temper tantrumming and decided to get on and fix it so phoned jdmotorsport off rs2000-16v and ones on its way.

Feeling more positive i got the wiper re-aligned and we decided to get on with the bodywork.......

After spending a couple of hours flatting both sides i got rich onto the buffer of dreams (im lethal with them)

This is as good as i can show you but its unflatted full of contaminants, you can see the sanding marks through the base coat and theres bug tracks in certain patches.

So ive flatted it out as best i could strip out the marks. We gave it a good cutting and then i sealed it with a wax, i havent bothered with the tailgate ill come to that in a minute. Its gone from foggy and rough to smooth and reflective its not a good paint job but it doesnt look a mess now.

Once its mot'd my next job it to replace the tailgate the fillers cracking and as ive always said filler plus hatchback=tears. Im on the look out for a black boot at the minute or i may fit a wrc spoiler instead which'll cover it up and buff the boot but after reading on other forums the drag it causes im not sure. Why black, well as i mentioned my mate does wrapping so im either going black roof carbon bonnet or carbon roof and bonnet. Namely as i personally like it and its cheaper than paint, and all the painters i know wont touch it unless i have the sides done.

Fitted my rs bonnet in readyness for wrapping and she's getting something like.

Oh dear... Hub being ovalised is pretty sh!te as it drove fine the last time it was on the road. At least you don't need a new ball joint! Yeah the rear lights are crimped as a friend who shall remain namless wired them up wrong. The cars running a full mk5 loom hence the adapted rear wiring for the mk6 lights. The problems you having with the rear electrics will be earthing problems through the earths / boot pins.

Just in case I wasn't clear the rears are wired correctly, they just want soldering.

cheers heavyrightfoot its being a pain but ill work me way through it end of day i bought it as a project so this sort or crap had to be expected.

ScORTED, im gonna rip all the rear wiring out and start again by soldering a mk6 rear loom in. Ive got the wiring diagrams so ill get it sorted. Im just in a pissy mood as im loath for wiring. The brake switch is playing up now sticking the brake lamps on and its losing brake fluid but feck knows where to as theres no leaks on the system you can see
