My £500 workhorse NSFW

Maybe some people believe that telling someone they're being ridiculous online will benifit the person and maybe prevent them making such ridiculous statements in real life.

On an internet forum do you seriously expect people to be all sweetness and light, and not comment on things that they have issue with?

I rarely "expect" anything these days, but I know what I see ;)

I love great banter, I don't love embarrassing stirring.

shows how well people read - I didnt choose to buy this car, I was after a cheap diesel manual. this ended soon on ebay and I won it. I got outbid on a rover 75 diesel so I could have had that. I just ended up with it. Its not the fastest car, its a 11 year old diesel mondeo with 149K on the clock that I got for £500.

Also under current MOT rules diesels are not required to have a cat fitted as not subject to emissions test, only smoke test.

Oh and the not having bills etc, my life is none of your business but I have plenty of things I have to pay for and due to not having a full time job atm I am working p/t as a dominos delivery driver, hence the need for a diesel and it had to be a family car as my missus is expecting and I need to keep costs low.

If anyone has a problem with me or my car, please feel free to keep it to yourself

When i see that steve has updated or started a thread i think oh god now what? I know it's going to start off ok with some positive posts, then the pointless mods start and so do the negative posts. You do wonder why steve bothers posting here because he must know what will happen.

He likes to do his car his way which is fine but it all seems a waste of money/effort as you now have a MK1( nice car that people on here like). a mk2 that needs work and now a mk3 as an eveyday car. surely 1 car would be better, something like mcric's mk3 ST tdci which would do all the things the your 3 cars do. especially now that you have a baby on the way() as money and time will be short when it arrives.

mk1 will be going once I sort the IM gasket, wishbones, droplinks and MOT

ST will remain as a toy/project car as I have a very personal attachment to it that I wont go into

mk3 is just a car.

And no-one forced a gun to my head but I know the reliability issues with mk3's, mainly the DMF (this had single mass conversion 28K ago) and tdci injectors but tddis dont suffer from that.

I was just after any diesel manual car with a budget of £600 and this is what I got as I only had 2 days to get a car.

I post on this site as I know there are some CAR ENTHUSIASTS on this site who can look from an objective view point and say 'hmm, nice car and not bad for the money, especially when similar cars are twice as much (LX TDDi with 112K for £1195 as example)'

all I care is the car starts, stops, is comfortable, economical and safe

Nope, that was under the old rules, the new rules state:

"A catalytic convertor fitted as original equipment but missing will be a reason for failure"

The under the old MOT laws you could get away without having a cat on a diesel, i did on my old mondeo.

You do realise you dont HAVE to quit escort ownership to leave here yes?

if escort ownership becomes a site user compulsory then I also demand that perfectly good car needlessly wrecked be viable grounds for removal.

Its a Diesel Mondeo.

Escort ownership will never be a rule, its nice to see other cars to prop up the SUYM section, having said that I didnt even take notice but it is so hard not to post sometimes on Stevmo43120942's SUYM, I knew that now this topic was 3 pages long it wouldnt all be about the progress of the car and I wasnt let down.

Im suprised that this time anyone found anything to talk about, Stevmo431203 is Stevmo2431943 and is exactly the same as he always has been, I honestly have to respect his dedication to doing things his own way even after the negativity which is throughout his topics, some brought on some not so much.

My opinion is that this car and its mods isnt worth posting about, thats my opinion though, its a Diesel Mondeo work car.

I wish Steve would finish one of the other two and post about them instead, I had some interest in them but one was closed, the only reason i've posted is cause once again one of his SUYM topics has decended into nonsense again.
