Mk 3 Mondeo Bumpers

Hi i know that this is a escort forum, but i know that there are people on here that know there stuff. I did use to have an escort but that died and is now in rusty car heaven :innocent: . Since then i had quite a few motors but have now had to settle with a 2001 mk3 mondeo. Ive started to do it up to look like an st220. Anyway the question that i have is would bumpers from a 2007-2011 mondeo fit my 2001 mondeo Ive been looking for bumpers but the prices for them can be expensive and Ive managed to find a front bumper in my price range. Any help on this would be great :thumb:

They will bolt on but the front will not look right because the st has wider front arches unless of course you change them too, you will also need the under tray and wheel arch liners for it to be secure. Best bet would be the zetec s bumpers look very similar and bolt straight on plus are cheaper to buy :thumb:

I found a post on the talk ford site talking about the bumper swap and like you guys say to get the st look is going to be hard work. I'm gonna go with the zetec s look. Been looking on ebay and gumtree and cant believe the prices of these bumpers :censored:. Some people are looking for £££ just for the front bumper some even needing repair work done :nutter:

As said the bumpers you need are the ones from the Zetec S, the ST's front end is wider so you would need to change your wings and bumpers to suit, also the sideskirts on the ST are different too.

I had a Zetec S mondeo before my focus:

That is the exact look im looking for, does it matter what year zetec s i get the bumpers and side skirts from.

Not at all mate, all MK3 Zetec S have the same bumpers/skirts as long as its not an estate (the rear is different)

Wicked thanks for the advice hicksy done me a right favor :thumb: By the way that was a nice mondeo you had how come you got rid of it.

No worries mate :)

I had a few Fueling issues with it (injectors) and i lost heart in it, i fixed it, returned it to standard and sold it on.

And id always fancied an ST170 and the insurance prices werent too bad anymore.

I really did like my mondeo, and id have an ST220 if they didnt have such a thirst for fuel!

just as and added note, slight differences in pre and post facelift bumpers. still fit easily but they just appear different

thats a pre-face just for comparison

facelift gets slightly bigger skirts and about 2 tiny tiny other details :D

Final facelifts with the (IMO) gay chrome bits on the rear lights have modified back bumpers for rear reflectors as they took them out of the actual lamps :thumb:

although standard stuff can be made to look good. this is my mates 2001 mondeo TDDI ghia x:

standard facelift front bumper with rubstrips removed and smoothed (plastic welded and flexi filler) with the lower valance colour coded and lower grill removed and black mesh installed and ST TDCi rear bumper (only single exit and bit cheaper than 220's) with plastic inserts removed and backing cut out and black mesh installed, gay final facelift rear lights with chrome strip vinyl wrapped and pre-facelift ZS side skirts.

cost him £250 to have both bumpers modified and painted, skirts were already right colour

oh and wing mirrors are carbon wrapped and his foglight is modelled on a goldfish bowl :thumb:
