Rockerrob666
***Update*** Roof working well again now. Topped the fluid up with roof closed.Refit the filler bolt as described but not tight up.Half opened the manual release valve and opened and closed the roof by hand.Re-tightened the filler bolt and tightened the manual valve.Presto electric operation. Had to repeat this a few times and help the roof up a few times, I assume due to stiffness being on for two years.Had a spell just like yours hicksy where it would open but not fully close but helped it along a few times. Now all well and good. For info I used hydraulic jack fluid as it seems this is the same (do NOT use power steering fluid as I believe this causes damage to the reservoir).Correct fluid is £25 from fords for 1ltr and jack fluid £5 for 500ml of which I only needed half that. Hope this helps. Glad you got it sorted - Haynes did say you'd prob have to put it up and down a few time, I assume it's a bit like bleeding the brakes in that you need to pump all the air out. Everyones right, no point in having a cabby if the roof doesn't work!! thats the best bit Back to looking flash again in the PeeWee mobile
