Jjosland
Hi guys and girls, New to the forum as of yesterday and been loving looking at your cars. Just been doing some bumper repairs on her and have decided to make her as nice as I can. My plans are to get gti sides and spats, and repair lots of the body work (any advice for some rust spots) new interior would be welcome, windows tinted at some point, air induction, and one day a long way off I'd love to get her a full respray. First I want to do some colour coding with the handles and side bumps. Being my family size car I don't want to go overboard on looking like a boy racer, but I love the car too much to scrap it. Any advice or suggestions on bits to do would be nice. I'll get some photos on soon. Joe Edited July 27, 2013 by Jjosland

Jjosland
What colour are the spats? I'm away at the moment but will be back on Monday and add some photos on. I'll try to hide the rust in my photos as much as possible! Haha. My bump strips are pretty much only good for taking off, but I'm kinda worried about what I might find underneath! lee grout
If you've access to one then a heat gun is prob best. If not the mrs hair dryer would do the trick. Gently warm up and peel off. Shouldnt damage underneath if your careful.
Jjosland
Great I should be able to pinch a heat gun. Cheers.
268
Don't even need a heat gun in this weather. When it's a really hot day just walk up and they peel off like Sellotape. Took me less than 30 seconds to do the whole car a few weeks back! Pleasantly surprised!

Just took the side strips off and the car is a bit dirty. Just wanted to get a couple on for you guys. You can see my nice shopping trolley dent in the passenger's door.
