Jjosland
I'd be gutted for it to go to be quite honest. I still wanna get a magnex exhaust and some new door cards and then it'll be tidy.
scottybo
Standard exhaust is a major downfall on the 1600 Its literally half the diameter of the 1800 system when i fitted my decat (made from an 1800 cat as the pipes a larger diameter) and fitted my mongoose, the engine felt so much better through the entire rev range
Jjosland
The downpipe is the same diameter for the decat though?
scottybo
If you bought an off the shelf decat then yes it would be the same the downpipe for a 1.8 is bigger than the 1.6 Hence why i used the 1.8 cat and downpipe when i made my decat
Jjosland
I see! I'll have to look into it for next year if I get round to some changes.
Jjosland
OK, so she's not going anywhere. Dale is sending a magnex exhaust so that'll be on asap. Need to get a set of door cards and tidy up a few areas. One day I'll sort out my alloys I never finished and get some v6 brakes. Lowering springs and some new shocks whilst I'm at it. That's pretty much my current list of jobs!

Jjosland
The only big things left to do are my alloys in the new year and bigger brakes.
Jjosland
Oh and also, apart from the wheel arches (especially the back) the car is in very good shape underneath. Little bit of surface rust that I can sort out. Fuel tank could be better.
scottybo
What do you think of how the magnex sounds? Is it a cat back? Do you still have the cat fitted?
Jjosland
Think it sounds great, not too loud and a nice little rumble. Yeah it's still got the cat.
scottybo
See i was really disapointed with the 4inch magnex i had. Thought it sounded awful so i went back to the mongoose (that and u dnt see many mongoose systems) Get the cat out of there! Its the part that makes all the difference!!
