Ahmotorsport
I'm sure a lot of you know this car by now, but it's got a 2L Duratec in it now, not quite as powerful as the ST engine (Yet) but it has more torque (couldn't tell you the exact figure as i don't know myself, just what i've been told, yes Stu, it was done on an engine dyno.) The reason for a Duratec is that it's a lot lighter than the ST lump, it also supports a Quaife kitted 5 speed IB5 with Tran X LSD. The car before (with driver) was about 1100kg, it's now 1010 with driver. So a decent weight loss, there isn't really a lot more that can be taken out of it. It's also got Mondeo hubs on it now (hence the black wheels on the front as they're 5 stud) as the ST170 ones used to sheer with the grip/torque. Overall the car is about 1.5 seconds a lap quicker than it used to be and it won it's class in the first outing and second overall. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/DSCN4564_zps738a8e46.jpg
Stu
Looks cool. What bell housing is it using? The duratec is a better starting point for a mid-range race engine but big power is difficult due to the exhaust port design. If the ST170 engine made as much power as you claim, then it's unlikely you'll see as much or more with this engine, normally aspirated. I'm at Peugeot now so i don't see much of what goes on here anymore, as far as i'm aware, it's stock bell housing, but we've had to space the flywheel over so the first motion shaft fits in both plates of the clutch (clearly the flywheel manufacture had never made one before) Well the ST was 292BHP, this one is either 260BHP or 270, i think it was 260BHP. But i believe the old man has been designing some new cams for it already. Aye the exhaust ports aren't as nice as we would like, i remember saying that when i ported it, but the old man seems quite confident in gaining some more horses. Well when this car was built i don't think there was a such thing as a Duratec lol! Edited September 4, 2013 by Ahmotorsport
sidrick
Are you still on good terms with your old man? That thread with updates about which fancy cars you guys had in was a great read... what happened with the long term quattro?

That thread with updates about which fancy cars you guys had in was a great read... what happened with the long term quattro? Yeah good terms still. Yeah unfortunately i can't get there as often as i would like as i work most lunch breaks and sometimes late which is quite annoying, once Impy is on the road, i'm sure i can go there during my lunch break and get some pictures etc. Quattro is sat in the truck as the bloke ran out of money. I think he only wanted £800 for it. I can find out if it's still available if you want. This was for a 600hp turbocharged engine.
