shawdreamer
depends what the builders purpose is I suppose. If its just to allow the car to pass emission tests then maybe a little to over engineered (all that trouble for a once a year thing is a little ott imo) however If its to allow quick exhaust configuration from say "road-going" to "track" I suppose its feasible to some degree. theres also noise level difference I suppose, as a straight through is generally louder than a full cat setup (least my 2 1/2 SS is notably louder when de-cat'd) dont a couple of the new high end motors have similiar rigs on their exhausts purely for sound asthetics when you nail your foot? (Aston or Jag iirc)
scottybo
They do. But not a bodged up throttle body at the side. Honda motorbikes have had a butterfly valve in the exhaust for years. Works on pressure and its INSIDE the system

shawdreamer
Modding a Ford? Of course it's stupid tbf modding for cosmetic reasons on anything is pointless from a practical stand point. for example, I saw a mop'ed go down the mainroad near me with underbody neons the other week, underbody illumination looked good on a motor when they were flying along but the only time you see a mop'ed "flying along" is right after the lorries side swiped it.
