Fitting A Rear Strut Brace On A Escort MK6

Does anyone know how to fit a rear strut brace to an Escort MK6 as I've recently aquired one and its a bit more fiddly than just removing 3 nuts either side. I had to disconnect the speakers, pull the carpet back, undo the trim screws and gently prise away the trim but the area around where the seatbelt is atached doesnt move and obviously i dont want to force it. The plastic trim around the speakers are in the way and I can't slide it on, already chipped paint off of it, any advice much appreciated.

Ive already tried that. Had to pull back the carpet around the screws so it would sit flush on the metal but like I said, when trying to slide it into place, the plastic trim by the speakers I in the way and although I removed all screws and it al came away, the piece which the seat belt is attached to wouldn't move and I obviously don't want to force it.

Yeah I tried to do it this morning, got as far as undoing the rear seat belt mount but tried to undo the two screws where the tab is to lower the rear seat but wouldn't work with a allen key or a socket piece like a screw driver but thicker. Kept going round and round.

didnt undo the seatbelt mount just unfastened the support and slid it off/up just enough to get my brace in
