did1989
Hello fellow escort lovers (almost sounds rude) just been and looked over a car that my brother bought with guidance of dad, a p reg fiesta 1.3 nothing special but on close inspection or better yet as they looked for money under the back seat they noticed the bodge to get the fuel pump out which looks very nasty and half finished, I rung the trade seller back up and said this is abit out of order not to mention pertensionally a mot failure which his response was shut up u pri** I am a mot tester and ur not having ur money back
blacksofstichill
I'm guessing someone has cut a hole under the back seat to remove the pump rather than drop the tabnk and remove it that way?Although it sounds like they made a rough job of it there's nothing really wrong with that if it's neatly cut and has a cover plate made to go back over it again, I've done it myself on older cars where removing the tank is going to end up meaning a new tank, tank straps and possibly fuel pipes are needed. To be fair to whoever sold you it it wouldn't be an MOT failure as they wouldnt have any reason to look under the back seat at MOT time and you won't see it from underneath so how could they know that it was even like that under there? did1989
Lol excuse my spelling lol I can accept the fact it wouldn't b a mot failure if it wasn't seen but it doesn't change the fact it should b. Also it not a nice job its been cut in a cross shape with the corners bent up. Have spoken to the well spoken salesmen today who has agreed to finish the job like I said I will try and post a before and after pic
scottybo
i cut a hole underneath the back seat of my focus to get to the fuel pump, i then made a plate to cover the hole back up, the reason i did this was because....... bmws have a pre cut hole and a plate as standard, i like that idea, the pump hyad to be changed in my focus, and fcuk taking the tank off, now if it ever needs attention again, its much easier to access! did1989
I would agree with you but this hasn't got the plate to recover the hole he made. I am wondering how he is going to fix it if that was his idea of neatly cut
Craig855S
How do you know HE cut that hole? If he's taken the fiesta in as part ex it could have been done by the previous owner? OK his response to you was a bit annoying personish but you ringing up making demands for something maybe he didnt do might get his back up a bit? Analog2323
Hey bottom line is,as with any used car,if your gunna by it,then you are the one that takes the risks! So stop moaning and get on with it! If you want a full warranty,by a new car from a ford dealer! ok?
