EssexMikeSi
Well what a shame it seems like the forum is dead. I've been on here a good few years and back in the day was on 'the mkv register' and both were very happening forums.I guess it's as escorts have had their time now however there must be a fair few of us out there who still like to have a play with them. I've got a bmw m3 nowadays but I also still have a mk6 for my everyday car and I still love doing the little mods to it etc. I guess they're in my blood. tomsy
So many escort groups popping up on facebook have killed sites like this i think, its so much easier to post topics and photos on the book than on a web site.
zetecmk2
but i like forums better....especially on sunday nights. on oldskoolford and buysellcortina, sunday nights....alot of us would have a few beers and talk shyte. used to get a bit confusing when there's 20 odd blokes on 1 topic at the same time. havn't done that for a good few years!!!!! :-(looks like fb killed alot of forums....but on a sunday....there's only so many "now that's what i call a breakfast" posts i can look at!!!!!grrr!!! Mex
Because of it's format, discussions on Facebook tend to be short lived. I prefer conventional forums for more serious discussions and as a resource of knowledge.
Escort Si-130
Its more to do with less Escorts being around than say 10 years ago. Plus more people are selling up or scrapping them. So would not have the same interest. Other forums with newer cars such as the Focus are thriving.
Jjosland
As you said they're not all that common on the roads everyday and many people would prefer to have a new car. There's loads of knowledge on forums like this so don't understand why it's not more popular, plus it seems like a much friendlier environment than a Facebook group in my opinion. mike19892007
+1 with the above, everyone's binning MK6's cos they ain't worth anything atm just like MK2's in the 90's & MK3's 10-15 years ago. Now look at what they're making. I'm still an Escort fan, always will be! gotta stay loyal to the blue oval lol! Don't really get on the forum much but still got plans for my MK3

Jjosland
How much did you pay for it? I paid a pricey 995 5 years ago.
sidrick
I guess it's hard to run an enthusiast site when folk just aren't that enthusiastic about the cars anymore. I feel the site and members have been let down by the owners not adapting and trying to keep it going. I'm not saying they themselves should have kept carrying the torch, everyone grows up and priorities in life change, but maybe letting someone else have a go would have been an idea rather than just watch it die over the last few years. mike19892007
maybe it would be an idea to add another section to the forum where we can show our other toys? or even change the forum to an all ford models forum so it will attract not only people with escort's but also with other ford's. just an idea?
