Apparently it already is an enthusiasts site for all mk's although IMO its not very obvious. Given that the user & post count is so much lower than it used to be a reduction of the number of categories could help make the site appear more active by having more active topics in each sections. This is the first time I've logged in this year and there was 3 or 4 sections with posts since I was last here. Yes facebook has killed forums off to a certain extent, but there has also probably never been a less desirable time to own an escort. They're generally too old/not desirable for an everyday car for most. New drivers (i.e 17/18 year olds) are not going to buy one as their first car or 2nd car as the like of myself did 10-15 years ago and they are still to modern and too many rough examples around to be appreciated as a classic or maintained as a 2nd "Sunday/Show" car. I know there are exceptions to that, but generally speaking thats the case. Give it another 10 years, the crud thats left will be soup tins by then, the better examples will get restored and the minters that have been hiding for years will resurface as they will actually be worth a quid or 2. Its the same thats happened with other Fords, mk1/2 escorts being prime examples but also Capri's which I'm a massive fan off have massively increased in value and demand in the last 10 years as less are available and more middle aged men want to relive their youth and have the money to do so. Problem with general ford forums is that the information and the knowledge kind of gets watered down a bit Look at talkford for example....hate that forum. Full of old men asking the same questions about their diesel mondeo. And people always giving the same incorrect advice. You also find a load of what i call 'one posters'.
