launch control

Safe for what? It already has a rev limit so all you can do is reduce that with an aftermarket junk box.

Im not actually sure if mine has a rev limiter built in. Both supersport and myself both use a mondeo 'blob' ecu. And whereas before it would hit the limit at just shy of 7k. The rev counter in both our cars will happily cruise way past that. Not that ive ever had the balls to carry on and rev is that hard anyway

Depends on the tune/modification to your engine, a standard 1.8 Zetec produces peak power around 6400 and falls away after that,i believe the rev limit is 7K, fast road cams and aftermarket ecu will move the power curve up the rev range a bit, but on standard big-end bolts 7K is still the safe limit.

On the very rare occasion that I need to do a start, its in 2nd gear @ 3K but i have never used launch control.
