masqplec Posted March 9, 2016 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Hi all.Got a 1996/97 Ford Escort Masquerade Limited Edition and after a few problems and a replacement of the clutch rachet I'm getting a very worrying thing going on with the gearbox.Everytime I shift into 2nd I'm getting a crunch. The higher the revs the worse the crunch into 2nd.It doesn't happen with any other gears and reverse is completely fine.I'm really worried and would appreciate any advice whatsoever.Thanks in advance,masqplec Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

masqplec Posted March 15, 2016 Author Share Posted March 15, 2016 Thanks for the reply sidrick,Yeah, a few mates have told me the synchro for 2nd gear has gone so I'm trying to drive without going into 2nd gear.My new worry is how long everything will last like this as I'm not paying out for a reply as I've paid out enough on the car.
