Escort Si-130
This is for the ABS system on the mk5 Ford Escort RS2000, Si, XR3i with rear disc brake axle. Looking at the Grahams Granada Page. The fault codes for the ABS on the mk5 Escort RS2000 are below. Remember to test it, connect the code reader to the connector by the ABS pump with the ignition off. Once connected, switch the fault code reader to ON, then after turn the ignition ON. It would then start flashing the codes.CODE = UNIT (Type/Position) = FAULT00 = ECU/- = Supply voltage or ECU10 = -/- = Invalid code11 = -/- = Electrical interference17 = System Relay/- = Voltage supply or wiring21 = Main Valve/- = Valve, wiring or connections22 = Solenoid valve/LH Front inlet = Valve, wiring or connections23 = Solenoid valve/LH Front outlet= Valve, wiring or connections24 = Solenoid valve/RH Front inlet= Valve, wiring or connections25 = Solenoid valve/RH Front outlet= Valve, wiring or connections26 = Solenoid valve/Rear inlet = Valve, wiring or connections27 = Solenoid valve/Rear outlet = Valve, wiring or connections31 = Speed sensor/LH Front = Sensor circuit32 = Speed sensor/RH Front = Sensor circuit35 = Speed sensor/LH Front = Sensor signal36 = Speed sensor/RH Front = Sensor signal41 = Speed sensor/LH Front = Sensor signal42 = Speed sensor/RH Front = Sensor signal55 = Speed sensor/LH Front = Sensor signal long term56 = Speed sensor/RH Front = Sensor signal long term61 = Reservoir and pressure switch = Switches, pump motor, relay or wiring62 = Pedal travel sensor = Sensor resistance or wiring63 = Motor/- = Motor, voltage supply, relay or wiring64 = Hydraulic Modulator = Motor, voltage supply, relay or wiring65 = G force sensor/- = Sensor or wiring (4x4 only)75 = Speed sensor/LH Front = Sensor circuit intermittent fault76 = Speed sensor/RH Front = Sensor circuit intermittent fault79 = Vehicle spin recognised = -ABS Hydraulic Modulator Solenoid Valve TestingTo test the wheel sensors, with the ignition off, disconnect the ABS module plug. To test the inlet/outlet solenoids as indicated by the extracted fault code(s) measure the resistance(s) between ABS Module Connector pin 3, and the relevant pins as listed at Table 2. Compare the measured values with the expected values at Table 2.Table 2Solenoid = Pins = Expected reading (ohms) LH Front Inlet = 20 & 3 = 5.4 to 8.2ohmsLH Front Outlet = 22 & 3 = 3.0 to 4.5ohmsRH Front Inlet = 38 & 3 = 5.4 to 8.2ohmsRH Front Outlet = 21 & 3 = 3.0 to 4.5ohmsRear Inlet = 54 & 3 = 5.4 to 8.2ohmsRH Front Outlet = 36 & 3 = 3.0 to 4.5ohmshttp://i63.tinypic.com/2wm2640.jpgIf any test fails, repeat the test at the sensor connector to determine if it is the sensor or the vehicle wiring at fault.ABS Wheel Sensor TestingTo test the wheel sensors, with the ignition off, disconnect the ABS module plug. With reference to the ABS connector drawing, and the ABS module pin numbers given at Table 1, test the sensor(s) indicated by the extracted fault code(s) as follows;Test for continuity. Expected value 900-1400 ohms.Test for signal by raising the affected wheel, spin the wheel at approximately one revolution per second. Expected value greater than 0.2 volts AC.Table 1Wheel = PinsLH Front = 30 & 48RH Front = 29 & 47http://i64.tinypic.com/2qisojl.jpgIf any test fails, repeat the test at the sensor connector to determine if it is the sensor or the vehicle wiring at fault.
