Chappers
Oh dear, and you call youself an ice expert!! There are bits you could copy from mine but the boot floor will be a different layout i'm sure, and the audiobahn subs aren't freeair so it would cock it right up. Anyway, i'm sure ralph doesn't want to open his boot to show an identical install to someone already on evo!! :P Edited January 23, 2006 by Chappers

Ex-Finesse
You have had these in a cupboard all that time Yes! Escort just took a different direction and I couldnt use them in it!! Finally have a car I can use them in!! I've also got a 7' motorized screen which has sat in it's box for over 2 years!!! Also going in the orion! Actually, Chappers install is smart. Any chance of having EXACTLY the same? Got any blue trim left Chapman!?!

Mattyboy101
You could have the sort of install we were planning for Chappers before it was decided infinite baffle subs are infinitly easier
Chappers
The question is ralph, do you care about the spare wheel or bootspace, that makes a lot of difference
Ex-Finesse
YES! It's gonna be a practical car! I wanna be able to cruise Saturday night, and then take a sheep to market on Sunday! Nothing fancy.. please! Got to have the subs ass mounted though!
Mattyboy101
Ass out works perfectly when you mount them in the corners, as due to the required volume being smaller (after taking out the subs own volume) you can squish it in nicely. Possibly the two subs in either corner at 45 degrees then the amp running down the middle backed up against the seats?
Ex-Finesse
Sounds great! Pretty much identical to what I had in mind!! On a similiar note - whats the best way to break subs in? One of my mates said dont use it much over half for a couple of hours, but another mate had the volume near maximum pretty much from the start! Also, what mm MDF do we need for the boxes? Mattyboy101
I would set the volume on the HU to what you normally use (e.g. 1/2) and then adjust the gains so that the subs just start to move. Run them like this for about 20 hours, then gradually turn the gains up bit by bit till they are at the correct position. MDF - bigger the better really. When making the boxes, make sure that the walls are not straight to avoid standing waves/superposition. Also try to fibreglass the joins so it is nice and sealed, and don't use those silly leaky terminal things - just some simple bolts will suffice!!
