My rolling road figures from today

Couple of us went down to Balmuir Garage in Rosset to put the cars on the rolling road including Davespages and 85Rob.

My car put down 125.3bhp @ 6202rpm / 122lbs.ft @ 4699rpm. Im pretty chuffed with the only moddifications being a pipercross air filter and cat back s/s system.

Always put a downer on things you don't ya?!

Only things that arent accurate :baby:

I did say its a good fun day though, last rolling road i went to was good because a decent amount of people showed up, and there was some nice cars etc. I don't really believe my car made 129bhp like they said it did, but it doesn't really matter. Good day, good chance to meet people and see some nice cars :thumb: Not exactly putting a total downer on it ;)

How do you know it isn't 129BHP? What other 130BHP cars have you driven to be able to compare the acceleration and top speed?

I'd say a rolling road is as accurate idea as your going to get about what power your car is kicking out  . Or have you got a magic way of knowing that the rest of the world dont know about?

A proper engine dyno, whatever they are really called....i have no idea....but my car has "129bhp" according to one rolling road, but the next could say it has 113bhp. Also its not going to make a noticeable difference either way.

I do think Rolling road days are fun though, but not a serious way to compare one 1.8 escort to the next unless they are both put on the same Rolling road, on the same day, under the same conditions .They will all pretty much be as quick as each other anyway assuming the drivers are equally skilled and one of the cars isn't fucked :baby:

They are good for comparing two cars on the same day, but not to get an accurate bhp reading.....

So? Should you not be happy that you car made that power on a certain set of rollers? When my car goes on the rollers, i will be taking that power figure as what the car is running, not as if some fairy has made it up like you seem to think. Yes they work on alot of variables, but that doesnt mean to say they are so far out that you cant assume they are close enough to the actual power figure of the car. If your that worried about yours, put it on another rolling road and compare the results, bearing in mind that an engine will run differently depending on the conditions (Ie, temperature, air pressure etc)

I really do think you need to stop analysing stuff so much  .
