i'm wondering whether to try and chop it against an Escort van...got a quote on the 1.7 Diesel version I can take insurance on a 6 monthly basis for around £680 Fully Comp...

a 1.7 diesel van?

i guess you mean a 1.8, have you tried going TPO (third party only) then you post code shouldn't be an issue? and as your cars worthless it shouldn't be a problem

No they did a 1.7 N/A diesel as well most of the quotes are actually TPO or TPFT for the ones where TPO isn't available, as for the postcode...it comes up as a High Risk area

Much as it pains me to say...I'm currently negotiating with my parents to allow me to ride a motorbike as fully comp with £100 excess on a 125 is...£362.05 so if I do get somewhere with it my beloved Escort's gunna have to go ;(

EDIT: I still say there's a 1.7... and so do the insurers, although on that conclusion they did say to me that there was NO SUCH THING as a 1.3 Escort on an N reg...feels so good to prove em wrong
