85rob Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 mechanic sorted my throttle cable without me asking him, he's routed it over the dipstick handle jaffa, mine done that so i got a new one and fitted it but this time i cleaned the surface of the head with sandpaper and gunk. touch wood its been ok since. DIDZ Posted October 9, 2006 Author Share Posted October 9, 2006 tight, but not tight enogh to thread screws mind... just so as it feels firm under pressure, but as though u no u cud push harder, but don't.. no wot i mean??Have u got old seal??try that.. they sortof m8 to head. Though most do replace and have no probs.Also this is the 3rd time mine has been reused... its spot on! also tighten all bolts evenly/lightly before u clamp it down properly. Dave C Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 I bought a new gasket when i changed the cover,as the old gasket was leaking all over the place. Checked it tonight & its fine. I tightened the bolts up gradually,working diagonally across the cover,then on the final tightening up,i just went round clockwise.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DIDZ Posted October 10, 2006 Author Share Posted October 10, 2006 sorry for quality, took with phone,so all togeter its new, hose for accelerator cable,all bolts and washers for cover,sprarkplug coverand 1 recond rocker cover.All work done by me costing 40 quid all in.. paints, sandpaper the lot so thats the finished article..
