Shouldn't be, easy to see that the relay for the fog lights at the front is K26, and the other diagram is of the fuse box shows where k26 is..... if you cant understand that dont go near the electrics! shawdreamer
to us yer all that is reasonably simplistic information....the poor fella wasnt even sure if he needed a relay......let alone were it was and in what slot and under what designation. you cudda saved time and told him "yes, look at your haynes"

Thats why I asked here
shawdreamer
lol good point trig........ I can spend two hours lookin at the manual to complete a five minute job once Ive figured it out
JC
The whole point of me linking in the genuine ford diagrams is to enable him to look at the fuse box and see if he has the relay, which those to pages show where exactly to look. not a massive fan of Haynes, it contradicts some of what ford have published.... Haynes is more confusing as in doesn't show where the relays are and which does what!: http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/10836.jpg Edited March 25, 2008 by Lordjc
shawdreamer
thats the relatively simple diagrams........the Mk4's further back in the manual can make grown rugger players cry!
LookItsMe
Hi i know i have everything for fogs, got relay, the fogs and the switches. how do i exactly wire the up, have got a clue where to start.
Squiz
If you have all the relays in the fusebox its as simple as pull out the rear foglight switch and plug the dual front/rear foglight switch in place. The wiring plug should be there for the front foglights (its purple in colour)If it isnt next to the hole when you pull out the rear fog light switch take off the panel that covers the fusebox on itll be there somewhere taped up Then get under the front bumper and find the two blue connectors and plug them into your foglights. That should be job done if you have all the required parts
LookItsMe
well i have the Encore edition so i have minimal wire on my car :-( i dont think i have the front fog there.if i dont then how do i dont it?is it, wire both fogs to the fuse box and then wire the switches to the fuse box? Squiz
For a start may be worth checking if your fusebox has the power circuit there for the fogs if its a minimal wiring job.Might not even have the relay circuitry or the fuse circuitry there.Check easilly by looking at fuse number 31 in the front of the fusebox. If the connectors arent in place there then you cant run through the fusebox anyway. If that there might be worth checking for the connectors I mentioned in the earlier post.and sorry I have no clue how to wire the fogs in from scratch
LookItsMe
not sure what im looking at, i have no fuse in 31 but can just be added easily. Thanks for your help anyways
Squiz
not sure what im looking at, i have no fuse in 31 but can just be added easily. Thanks for your help anywaysSo you do have the fuse clips in position 31 ?? Not just slots in the plastic but actual tin clips behind them ??If you do then its a simple case of plugging the wiring in the right place. If you have that check for the wiring plugs as I said earlier. If you have the wiring plugs.....2 blues near the headlight wiring & 1 Purple near the rear foglight switchYou can just plug it all in.If you dont have the wiring or the clips in position 31 you need a conversion loom and a fusebox And if you dont have any clue what Im writing about maybe itsbest if you get someone else to check it out for you
