  1. maybe we don't want to look god anal your not related to the old galaxy owners club crew? they where just as bad
  2. Auto Express tested and rated Mer bumper care.
  3. nice Volvo, i had the same problem with my 850 what had to do was lift flat packed stuff over the tailights then slide into the boot. high emissions light maybe a previous code which has been cured but not cleared? and there's plenty of power to be had out the D5 just do some searches mainly the Volvo owners club forum. enjoy!
  4. i think fifth gear will benefit from someone like Ben Collins it'll raise the profile abit more, don't get me wrong i love top gear it's really funny but it's wearing abit thin, I would like to see some proper road tests and I'd hope fifth gear stick to their philosophy and don't loose their way.
  5. when do i get a visit? i've downloaded what i need another good tip, is if there is a club website that has restrictions and you know where you want to go is to google that particular club site and topic, sometimes this can bypass the permission barrier, doesn't always work though. just thought.
  6. are you sure, as when i click on it it says "i do not have permission" it's the how to section in the modification section, i can view the other how to section but not this one.
  7. Hi, i just viewed the how to section which i have no permission? oops just by clicking the "author" instead of the "how to" wording! is this meant happen?
  8. i'm interested! where abouts in the midlands? as i travel to the aston area every night of week would pay cash aswell? let me know! sorry i got some now! thanks.
  9. thanks, I'll crack on then! I'm not a confident spanner lol so I'll leave the cambelt to a garage although it doesn't look to bad when i examined it no cracks or anything you can still make out the wording on the belt, i assume this is o.k? it's obviously been changed at some point as the power steering reservoir is cable tied to it's mounting! also she's quite harsh on it's suspension lots of road noise and vibrations especially one these bristolian roads, I'm hoping that someone has pumped the tyres up to much? or are these like this normally? it might be me as I've been driving a Volvo for two years!
  10. hi all, 1. if i wanted to fit a rev counter would i need a complete binnacle or can just fit the rev counter to my existing binnacle? 2. i found a gap where a steering wheel adjuster should be there's no lever, should there be? 3. what's the best parts supplier? should i stick to ford or is there an alternative supplier? 4. knocking from the front suspension is this likely to be ant-roll bar drop links? how easy are these to fit? 5. is there a way of upgrading my speakers with out drilling and chopping my interior? 6. how easy is a cambelt to fit on the zetec? as i have never done one, if not for the faint hearted is there anyone or a garage that would be able to do this? 7. for my servicing and repairs is there a recommended garage in the bristol area? i think that's about it!
  11. nice ovlov, can't go wrong with a volvo even the dogs are good cars, i 've just owned a phase 1 850 for 2 yrs and loved it so reliable but 19mpg was getting abit much! i'll be honest the escort has been a bit of a culture shock! enjoy! watch out for injector problems it's well documented on the volvo owners club forum. from a ex voc member.
  12. i'm interested! where abouts in the midlands? as i travel to the aston area every night of week would pay cash aswell? let me know!
  13. thanks everyone for your kind words, i'd like to lightly mod it as it's so nice i.e clear side repeaters, maybe leather/half leather interior, k&n filter and a stainless exhaust. it's not 100%, there's minor rust spots around the sill and roof weather strips, a small crack and hole in the rear bumper and some knocking from the front suspension? and there's no service history! i know i shouldn't, but it was evident that it had been well looked after i have checked the cambelt and it looks o.k a little worn but no cracks etc i can still make out the writing just (what's the schedule for these?) i think it has been changed as the power steering reservoir is cable tied in it's location. it's only had two owners from new and even has three spare keys including the red one!! it's also been fitted with a toad sterling pro/cl alarm which isn't bad as i have remote locking and the doors lock when the engine is started just like my works transit does (if anyone has a manual for this which could be scanned and emailed would be much appreciated). that's about it i think, when the weather improves i will get out and re wash it and take some pics.
  14. that's good news! the reason for changing was the volvo needed alot of jobs doing plus 19mpg around town, it was time to change......i'll miss her but can't afford her anymore!!
  15. Hi all, here is a pic of my new purchase, it's a 98' escort mk6 finesse 1.6 16v with 83.000mls and is totally original! i love it! i bought this to replace my ageing volvo 850! http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/25480.jpg one thing though is it has a white engine bay and bulkhead? was cost saving on fords part?
