  1. Yep, thats the one I need, its for a MK5 Fiesta conversion I'm doing Just let me know when you dig it out mate Cheers
  2. Cool, no problem, can you find out what the four digit code is on it i.e 1AGB also and how much you want for it? Cheers Martin
  3. Anyone got a Non-PATS RS2000 ECU they want to sell me?? Cheers Martin
  4. Another young one! Me, shortly after midnight.... http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j244/saintwiggy/My%20RS2000%20Project/402569_10150460496582601_577287600_9106008_2096528631_n.jpg
  5. House was fully rewired 5 years ago, and not 1 prob to date, not even a trip.... Tonight Ive unplugged everything.. Switched oven on, the light and hood extraction work, then as soon as I hit the oven or grill setting it trips.... Switched oven off at isolator, plugged washing machine in, switched it on and it tripped....RCD tripped both times. Now this is telling me, either both have a fault (this is what Im struggling to take in) or faulty RCD??? Gonna have to start spending money, but on what....element for wash machine, or RCD? You can always fit a RCD, they arent too pricey. Cheaper than your washing machine element proabably. And if theres an electrician in the family..... shouldnt cost much at all. Or maybe hes got a spare RCD knocking about??
  6. I apologise, this reply wasnt for you, its was for mike-evans. This was my fault clicked reply on your post accidentally
  7. I know the rear wiper fault is caused by the 3 pin contacts on the bootlid, which usually corrode and the wiring breaks off behind them. Pull them out check the wiring and give the pins a good clean with some sanding paper, same goes for the contacts near the boot catch on the car. This also affects your heated rear window. Also check your boot light isn't staying on constantly, even when its shut! I and many others will tell you a 60 drop is the max you should ever consider lowering an escort......... 120?........... Im even shocked the rear arches even allow it. they didnt i had to grind the inner lip out a bit. and they still rub with 5 ppl in the car. it wont be staying that low. coz its too bumpy especialy if im gunna put baby in there, i may have to go bk to stock setup. depends what the ride is like when i adj it up. Spring assisters for towing help this so Suspension has less travel. I'm sorry but Escorts look awful on their arse, especially with 5 people in!
  8. Before the conversion the 1.6 Zetec I had done 140k and that still drove like new! Was a good strong engine, no taps or rattles, just wanted a bit more power. Now its probably someones coke can now! As i weighed it in, wasnt worth selling with that mileage!
  9. The lad I got in (was a foreigner from a sparkie who was working the same site as me at the time) told me it had alot to do with how newer appliances demand power nowadays, something about how they demand large amounts of power in short bursts rather than prolonged steady power usage, he said that's basically how most these "eco" friendly appliances lower their overall power requirements. He simply said having a fair few newer evo type appliances on anything but a modern RCD board can cause constant "tripping out" (I say "simply" because he noted my eyes glazing over while he tried to explain the more technical side of the issue ) reason for edit: It didn't occur to me......... A "foreigner" doesnt mean a bloke called Asalov from Poland did it, its what anyone in the Industrial/Commercial side of a trade call a relatively small job in the Domestic side of their profession that they do in a short space of time....... just incase you or anyone else was scratching their head Assuming your consumer unit is a split load? If you have an RCD Your cooker does not need to be RCD protected, unless you have a socket built into the main cooker switch near your cooker (if you have one?) Also try unplugging your washing machine. And then try your cooker out. 10. Had a bit of bump a couple of months back, managed to kinda bend it back in shape, its in the "show us your shunt" section on here. I will get round to changing it at some point tho =]
  11. Ordered the real ford radiant red in 2K. That picture was the day after it had been painted so hadn't had chance to G3 it, the original colour on the doors had faded, that soon got sorted.
  12. Haha yeh, those were on it when i got the car, never bothered changing them. Think they look better than the full set of lexus lights tho. Cheers
  13. ...I have learned by trial and error too! Have messed about with cars from a young age also. I'm actually a bricklayer by trade, but love working on cars as a hobby still. Learning by doing is the best way, Obviously some mistakes will happen, but thats where you start learning! I have my own garage at home and repair friends and family's cars in my spare time, have dropped many engines and done many clutches etc, I know escorts like the back of my hand! I haven't studied this at college, its all self taught. I'm not suggesting don't go to college lol, the qualifications are worth it and will get you far.
  14. Its just what i had, had it two years as the 1.6 then got bored of it and wanted some more power, it was a good shell to use and love the colour! Wanted 5 door for practicality and convenience really as its my daily driver for work, but i do have to agree 3 door does look better/sportier
  15. Coming back from a weekend camping in Wales, back in April. Coming down a country lane (within the speed limit - was 50mph) came to a left hand bend, on the exit to my surprise was a set off traffic lights with stationary traffic. Wheels locked up on the tarmac (lesson learnt - dont use sh*t tyres), had to swerve to my left on the grass verge to avoid hitting someone else (could do without it on my insurance) Had no traction on the grass and went straight into the signpost by this time i must have slowed down to about 20mph? Nothing major, managed to drive back to Manchester in this conditon..... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28256.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28257.jpg Back home... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28258.jpg http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28259.jpg Temporary bumper http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28260.jpg New panels and a bit of filler on the wing... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28261.jpg
