Hi, my daily escort has died on me so i'm looking to swap my 68 2 door viva hb restoration project that is complete and also has a shed load of parts with it, this is not a weekend job but well worth the doing as these are harder to find than mk1 escorts! Looking for a mk5 rs2000 but would accept a mk6 depending what it's like.   2. yeah that's something i'll jump straight on as it took me 4 hours getting the tank out as the bolts was that badly damaged by a previous owner and now it's all sorted and does half go like rubbish off a shovel i'm going to do the pas belt aswell and next week, i'll get the schutz gun out and under coat the whole underneath
  3. Iv'e never had a car pee me off so much in my life! With the idle control valve unplugged it trys to bog out at top revs like its starving on fuel. I put another post up in hope someone who knows what there doing can sort it for me. and cheers guys.

Found that the engine timing is spot in and that there is no air leaks and my dads mate has it in mind it's fuel starvation? when you spin the engine either if it decides to run or not, fuel gushes from the valve when it's held in, so would it be a case of faulty injectors or weak fuel pump that keeps coming in and out with working? or a sensor? you can hear the pump clear as day every time the key is turned

I held the valve in on the fuel rail while my dad spun it and it was like a water fountain and i took the cam pulley cover off and the belt is perished to buggery. i'm too use to my old school cars for engine work so hopefully i can get someone down to check the timing. looking at both pulleys where they look like stars. there both not exactly inline. one looks more turned than the other if you understand what i mean.   7. Hello, Looking to swap my mx5 daily for a mk5 3door might take a mk6, but anyway already own a mk6 and always wanted a mk5. Its got 141000 on clock which is common for these car, mot is i think around 8 months. Work needed is windscreen, two tyres and the rattly heat shield and the hood taping. maybe some niggly bits. The only two non standard parts are radio and wheels. its in silver and a N reg 1.8 135bhp model. Any questions ask. Located Redditch
