  1. In April of last year it became clear that enough MX5 was enough and having the money from my Focus still sitting in my account, and some extra savings on top of that I decided I didn't really need a house just yet. I've always wanted one of these, I just didn't quite expect to be able to do it so soon: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5153167/Mobile%20Photo%202%20Sep%202010%2022%2004%2046.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5153167/IMG_0708%20-%20RS.JPG This was my only car for 3 months, a few things went wrong with it - mainly electrical. I think it was the shock of being used outside! Anyway that was all fixed at minimal cost but I decided to get a runaround. I looked at a lot of cheap diesels but decided that I'd rather enjoy driving a runaround so for the princely sum of £700 I bought this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5153167/IMG_2262.JPG and those 3 now make up my "fleet". The only one I'd be tempted to change any time soon is the Puma I think. It would be more sensible to have an estate with my other vehicles being so impractical! Oh and just for the record, my escort was Honda Long Beach Blue
  2. In August 2009 I passed my motorbike test and bought this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v128/davidc158/DSC03661.jpg A 2007 Suzuki SV650. Great beginner bike, but a little lacking in any kind of character or soul. After the Focus RS I decided to get into the world of RWD, so in February 2010 I bought this beastie: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v128/davidc158/billy5-1.jpg and then it snowed. A lot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v128/davidc158/IMG_0543.jpg If I'm honest, it was a bit of a pup and wasn't really worht the £1680 I paid for it. It had had a big side swipe at some point in its life seeing all of the panels on the left hand size had been replaced. Poorly. After a while I noticed "some corrosion" on one of the sills, poked it with my finger and a large part instantly turned to dust, followed by several sheets of newspaper! Ouch. Anyway after about 3 months I sold it for £1500 to a friendly man from Sweden who was going to be racing it in some kind of MX5 championship over there. He flew drove the 1400 miles back to Sweden, in a car I would put earplugs in for a 120 trip from Leamington to Braintree. Ouch. At about the same time (FebruaryMarchish 2010) I decided to sell my previous motorbike and buy this ridiculous thing. It had done 800 miles when I bought it and had all the toys I wanted. Yum http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5153167/IMG_0672resize.jpg So after many car swaps here and there I found a bike I wanted to keep. As of today that bike has done 7000 miles and I've got no reason to want anything else! ...more later.
  3. Apparently that doesn't work Elizabeth. It's like we never even existed.
  4. All those posh cars at your age... you show off
  5. Haha! Not much to tell really, finished uni nearly 3 years ago straight into a pretty good job so decided to treat myself!
  6. I'm also wandering round at the moment. It's not the thriving, sprawling mass of Escort-based lolz it once was I'm afraid, Harv.
  7. That's in remarkably good condition underneath... damn your dry climate! Most of our cars are rusted all up in the poes.
  8. Ah hello PeeWee. Did you make that rule up yourself to give you more things to post about now that it's gone a bit slow here?
  9. yeah got a fully working 6 speed wiper stalk £25 posted Is it from a cabriolet without the rear wash/wipe?
  10. You'll ideally need a good trolley jack and a couple of decent axel stands. I always used to prop the car up using the rear beam so make sure you're happy about where you put the axel stands. It's relatively easy though, it just unbolts and then can be wheeled out the way perched on top of the trolley jack.
  11. Age:25(just) 7 years NCB, nearly 8 years driving. Car 1: £430 fully comp Car 2: £280 tpft Bike: £445 (1 year NCB)
  12. Is this car, along with its indicator stalks, long gone now Dave?
  13. Hello, do you still have this car? Are the indicator stalks 6-speed and if so are they available please?
  14. Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. How's it going? I only came on here to find some indicator stalks and then started reading threads
  15. Indeed... Forged in the ores of mount Olympus by a giant named Trevor, I was made to save the... Ohh the colour? Honda Long Beach Blue. There. Final mystery solved.
