  1. i know this is an escort forum but from what i remember there is a few focus drivers on here so i'll give this a go! i have a set of chrome style angel eye headlight to fit a mk1 focus. these are for the facelift version with indicator in the headlight as the plugs were different on the pre facelif model. these come with a hid kit already connected! everything is in good working order and good condition. looking for £65 posted ono. any questions then pm me as i'm not usually on here these days. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/20e638bc-b3ed-4529-bc34-5d2b466b55b6.jpg collection from didcot.
  2. photo for you http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/ht.jpg please excuse the library pic, system is still set up atm.
  3. hi guys, just popping back on as i am selling my samsung home theatre system, link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120782788647?ssP...984.m1586.l2649 if anyone on the forum is interested i will end the auction early for you. i am looking for £120 collected from didcot. follow the link for product details. cheers. ps cant add photo as my photobucket is playing up.
  4. hi all, i have decided that it is time to call it a day on this forum. i haven't owned an escort in years now and whilst i know i'm still welcome it doesn't make much sense to me to stay! it is time to move on to pastures new this thread has merely been created to thank those who have contributed to my knowledge of cars and motoring and for the advice over the years and to thank those for welcoming me to the forum in the first place i've enjoyed my time here and enjoyed being a part of this online community. best of luck to everyone with their motoring and indeed all other aspects of life!!
  5. cheers yeah i like the blue and black, not a fan of the chrome. may do some CF when/if funds allow. yeah i did spot the dipstick handle and coolant lid too - will have another bash at these bits! cheers! they flashed orange but were stained blue so they looked blue through the plastic of the indicators. apparantly according to the rsoc that was standrd - however i wasnt a fan so changed them for orange bulbs - IMO it looks like it was meant to be now. the chrome caps are bonded on and i cant get them off without breaking the mirror. i now have some mirrors which i painted yesterday - i just need to flatten, lacquer, flatten and polish and they will be ready to go on
  6. cheers, its not bad. im having some issues atm with the engine warning light being on, its reading cat fault. we got under and had a look to find its been decat'd so im in talks with the dealer about getting either a standard cat or a sports cat with bluefin on warranty. they were somehow able to get an mot with the decat on which i havent been too happy about. once i get this sorted it should be in good order
  7. cheers, im pretty pleased with how it looks now yeah im aware of where the recirc valve goes, the old hose is still in place (with bungs) so its just a bolt on job and use one of the bungs to plug the dump valve hole.
  8. hi guys and gals! i finally had the time and the weather to give the rs a full exterior detail, having done the engine and interior during the week. i started late in the day so i didnt do any before or during pics - my apologies, i'll make sure i have enough time to do a proper write up next time. anyhow the process was as follows: rinse wheels with i4detailing wheel cleaner and multiple brushes snowfoam badges, door shuts, bumper, joins window gaps agitated with detailing brush rinsed 2 bucket wash with megs hyperwash and lambs wool mitt rinse clay with i4detailing mild clay bar and megs last touch as lube wash rinse dry with autobrite drying towel and megs last touch paint cleansed with dodo juice lime prime by machine on small polishing pad. i chose to use this as i didn't want to aim for full correction without a ptg and i would also like more practice with my polishes. however, i wanted to improve the quality of the paint. i have heard good things about the correctional properties of lime prime so i thought this would make a reasonable compromise. i have to say i was impressed with the results - the paint had more depth and gloss, the swirls weren't completly gone but they were improved but most important it did a good job at eliminating or massively reducing some of the rds. once done i gave it a wipe down with last touch and a microfibre to remove any dust paint was then treated with one coat of autobrite back magic wheels were then given one coat of porrboys wheel seal tyres dressed in megs endurance exhaust done with megs next metal polish window rubbers, window wipers, plastics on front bumper and roof strips all dressed with cgnltg. 6.5 hours later (at least 2 of that was polishing!!) i had this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/1f8ecdb6-e4cb-4021-9a88-a3a8fe9990e5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/4a261a79-c168-4316-861b-dc2e92dac5f2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/af2cfd6d-9edf-4a21-a088-875cacdfa38c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/46e298cc-9259-4aba-8cb6-a173b53714bd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/3703f2d5-3c66-4f97-8c56-7ef3f65152a7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/66738c4a-f880-48d4-8047-e657dcbea009.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/45fc4def-ecc9-4863-bd9d-ac69506eff33.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/451adc42-aaf6-4865-9454-55ba95b6b674.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/9cf549c7-490f-4c00-a650-837b90230288.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/a5724903-7348-4f3b-a905-71092dadfc78.jpg so that's it, comments welcome, good or bad!! been able to do some dechavving work this weekend too: i managed to get an interior bulb to replace the blue chavvy one it had managed to get new indicator bulbs to replace the blue chavvy bulbs it had manage to source some wing mirrors, just need to spray them the right colour, already got them primed and raedy for paint still left to do: upgrade wiper stalk to intermittant replace stereo stalk to see if that fixes it get the bloody gear gaitor off to put the blue and black one back on recirc valve is on its way, hopefully i can get that on this week
  9. cheers mate! already got a new recirc valve on order, hopefully it will arrive this week
  10. sounds good, i might get a new battery cover as mine is a bit scratched. lol, i know, it will go eventually im happy enough with it for now.
  11. that clean did you eat your dinner off it!!?! ha haha, could have done cheers mate, exterior to be done this weekend if the rain holds off!
  12. cheers simonez mike - ive had a good read through the rsoc and you appear to be right about the recirc valve - i will get one and do the gen2 when funds allow hi guys and gals, i thought i'd put up some pics of yesterdays post work detailing session. the focus had the usual garage clean so it wasn't too bad but the engine was filthy!! so here we go couple of pics of the dirty bay, doesnt look like a 24k engine! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0172.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0173.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0174.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0175.jpg the usual prep done (alternator covered, electrical wrapped in foil and for me t shirt over ht leads - still paranoid after the st incident!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0176.jpg then hosed down, sprayed with an apc/degreaser mix and left to dwell. then agitated as much as i could get to with a variety of brushes. i also did the underside of the bonnet. then rinsed down, engine on quickly to aid drying and drying completed with my autobrite towel. everything was then dressed including: plastics - CGNLTG, painted surfaces with SRP then AB black magic and any shiney metal was polished with Megs Nxt metal polish to give these results: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0177.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0178.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0179.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0180.jpg very pleased with the results, now it looks low milage!! then i had my dinner (hmm enchiladas!) and onto the interior. as mentioned this didnt look too bad to begin with: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0188.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0181.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0182.jpg the process here was to wipe down the dash, front/rear doorcards/trim and leather with APC, dress the plastics in CGNLTG and the leather in AG leather cream and then finish up with a vacuum over the carpets (matts were also APC'd and vacuumed) and door rubbers got CGNLTG, to give these finished results: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0183.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0184.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/dreadscort/RS/Photo0187.jpg so the only thing left to do is the exterior which i will do this weekend, weather permitting, where i plan on treating it to some dodo juice lime prime by machine so thats it, comments, hints, suggestions welcome
  13. it was £10.5k from a dealer. mine is an atmospheric dump valve in that case, everything seems fine with it atm but il definately bear that in mind. i had thought about the scan gauge actually as id like to keep an eye on engine temp! does the rs have any heat soak issues with the gen2 kit? its the k&n version of the viper which is a kit ive always liked the look of. ah, i didnt realse the AE map was the preferred one, thats cool in that case. i havent felt anything untoward in the throttle cable and my setas are fine so i shallnt worry about that just yet. not sure on the exhaust, im gona have to get underneath and look for a logo. but you're right about the miltek, they are regarded to be the best.
  14. not too sure what type of dump valve, how would i be able to tell the difference? i picked it up today and i absolutely love it!! not sure as plans yet, i do like the blue and black theme so maybe have the wheels done in black and get some smoked lights, already got the tints. perhaps some CF goodies (bumper vents and fog light surround etc). tuning wise im not sure, it has the exhaust already so may get a K&N. its a phase 1 model so i might look into what the deal is with the pink throttle update and the updated map on the phase 2.
