  1. Not bad thanks, still throwing spanners as a hobby. Have a well developed mx5 track car. Being a boring got and saving for a house rather than living the automotive dream. Hope life on the other side of the pond is pleasant
  2. Hey sidrick what happened to the S2 that you replaced every mechanical part on?
  3. Evening Evo! Hope you are all well! I've not had an escort since money pit went and tbh it spent 2 or 3 years not being used much if at all. I bought a fiesta st182 but someone kindly ripped the rear end off it for me before its first service. ScORTED
  4. If you want to invest but a 911 or a cossie If you want fun fast road / track buy an mx5 with a turbo or a supercharger you'll a get a really good one for 5k
  5. Got rid of the battle bus about 6 months ago along with the green mx5 and got myself in this: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/Car%20pics/IMG_20140510_193030_zpspe8anuce.jpg
  6. Model: Vauxhall Corsa GLS Year: 1999 Mileage: 83,000miles Tax: Till Feb 2015 MOT: 22 December 2014 Location: Near Lincoln, Lincolnshire (LN4 3QY) Price: £250 Contact details: email me: neonpirate85@aol.com or PM me Pics: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_174904_zpskwqp619i.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_174853_zpshsiygqoa.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_174830_zpsflmzixii.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_174842_zpshimlz8ll.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_174959_zpsetmjeuxg.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_175015_zps9kmv1sca.jpghttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_175029_zpsufv0u9hr.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_175110_zpskrjast7x.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/sale/IMG_20140817_180623_zpsdmycmulg.jpg "Lots of service history, electric front windows, central locking, sun roof, tyres all ok. cheap motoring. Few dents and scrapes but solid car drives fine. lady owner since 2009, previous lady owner 2000 -2009. 3 owners." This is my girlfriends corsa; its awful, its comically slow and has more dings than a boxing ring bell. It also has its share of interesting stains and odd smells inside. It was her first car - hence the vast number of battle scars my favourite of which is the drivers door which is so battered it looks like the window shouldn't work (but it does!). the bonnet is also a bit staved in and the front grill is secured with cable ties as it recently fell off (allegedly all by itself). Other exterior highlights include a scraped rear door and a bit missing from the bottom of the bumper (probably after some off roading). It has as many as two of its factory fitted wheel trims (they even have some of the factory paint on them). All the lights work, the tyres are all plenty legal and as they're 13" cost about £3.50 for new ones. The wipers work front and back, the washer jets work. Moving to the interior its always had seat covers fitted so the actual seats aren't too grubby. Unfortunately the door cards and carpets have a faint whiff of horse (but will be fabreezed until they don't) It might still be fitted with a cd player/radio unless we can find the original fairly non functional tape deck. As for the drive; Performance and handling : none at all Fuel economy: lots! Breakdowns: none in the last 5 years Strange noises: a few but nothing that sounds overly like mechanical death. I had the pleasure of driving this back from brum a few weeks ago and it surprised me that a) everything works and b) it drives really well for what it is. Once you get over the fact it has next to no power and torque and that the tyres are very skinny / it has standard vauxhall factory fitted understeer. It is possible on downhill stretches to achieve over 90 miles an hour without and noticeable wheel wobble - although if you do this with Sophie in the car she will complain as she never goes over 3000 revs. Anyway its been super cheap reliable transport its done 50k in the last 5 years needing the battery charged once, an exhaust, discs and pads but not a lot else. The pictures accurately describe the car (as have I) its cheap reliable simple crap looking transport thats cheap to tax/insure/run. Well done for reading through that - if you want the car email me: neonpirate85@aol.com and i'll sort it out
  7. yeah the b5/ibs are fine with the 130PS setup. that was what i always used to look for on gumtree/ebay back in the day though the lift reverse collar
  8. Theres lots of cars I'd rather have but nothing drives as well for the money and mx5nutz is a great community - a bit like evo at its peak but bigger and longer lasting
  9. about 6 months ago i decided i needed a spare car: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/IMG_20130831_161912_zpsdf143e93.jpg The "BattleBus" toyota Carina Auto with a 3SFE - its basically a celica estate (ROFL) Its rubbish but its awesome it best of all costs nothing to run. lucky id bought it really as i found even more grot in the sill of my mx5 so i broke it for spares: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/IMG_20131204_000458_zpsf79ab779.jpg The withdrawl set in quickly: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/aeunos/IMG_20131012_132210_zpsc384152c.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/aeunos/DSCF2177_zps5978ab85.jpg I've also bought a turbo/management/polybushes/adjustable coilovers/blah blah for it I sold this from the fleet recently; sad to see it go as it was an ace car 3.2 straight six waft mobile http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/LTC/IMG_20131017_175331_zps963aa212.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/LTC/IMG_20131017_175317_zps9bfb0b69.jpg I took this in part ex: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/iS%20mx5/DSCF2178_zps8bcc52cb.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/iS%20mx5/old/01_zps19d9e6b0.jpg I sold that and for some unknown reason i bought this - had various problems but is a low mileage previously well cared for car: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/escortstreetracer/aeunos/sale/IMG_20140124_135251_zpsqdu3dbut.jpg thats where we are now; i have two mx5s and a battlebus
  10. Can't believe no one has mentioned that the 130s have the mtx box which is lift up reverse, thats a lot harder to change than the rear beam, as it requires subframe, linkage, hubs, drive shafts, clutch and flywheel to be changed
  11. Lovely car, really wanted one but SWMBO bought a zetec ecoboost so i can't be one upping her
