  1. Freshwater Marine is too expensive for a man with my wages haha
  2. Errr was thinking about 360-400L but quite a wide tank like 5-6ft wide. Would aim to have it on ground floor, but was just wondering the possibilities if whatever tank I had, had to go in an upstairs room. I won't be buying anything till well after the move anyway, but just dreaming
  3. I'm in the process of sorting out a houseshare with some mates, and was contemplating getting a larger aquarium after the move, but it may be placed in an upstairs room.... I've read up on it a bit, and know to place the tank across the floor joists rather than along them, and preferably by an outside wall. My current setup is a 130L tank, but I'm just wondering how large would people say is safe to go if it's being placed in an upstairs room? Also, how much do you reckon it is to get it checked with a structural engineer or whatever?
  4. First game of awesome was Goldeneye on N64 then Quake 3 Arena which really got me into PC games... http://cynicwithagamepad.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/quake3_3.jpg Then there was good ol' CounterStrike, played online for YEARS, taking part in Clanbase, EnemyDown, CSGN and i-series leagues/tournaments! http://artofwarcentral.com/user/4300/images/Images/counterstrike%5B1%5D.jpg
  5. haha, I know. It's not the prettiest car in the world but it's a lot of car for the money
  6. I bought it from a garage like it, and was going to take them off when I got home but they do actually look really nice! I've gotta get the fronts tested as they do have a slight tint on them but I don't know how much...
  7. As expected by a few people, I got bored of my Fabia and decided to get rid for something petrol again... Golf GTi's are too common so got something with the same engine instead! Another Skoda!! Don't have many plans for the moment as I'm skint but the usual exhaust/air filter/lowered will be on the cards when I'm feeling flush and a nice set of BBS CH replicas http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g55/Muppje/DSCF6328.jpg
  8. Given the choice between Turbo Diesel and Turbo Petrol, I would pick Petrol!! I own a Fabia vRS with the VAG group 1.9TDi engine, and have test driven a couple of Octavia vRS with the VAG group 1.8T engine! The TDI is more torquey, which makes for great motorway driving and overtaking! The power comes in one big lump and throws you in the back of the seat! You can floor it at 2000RPM and you get a big surge of power but it soon runs out of puff and you change up at about 3500RPM (which is fine when overtaking but not good from a standing start!) and its not exactly a refined engine and the weight effects the handling! The 1.8T however, its MUCH more refined, which a smooth power delivery right up to the redline. Where the TDI feels quick with the torque, the 1.8T IS quick! Have only test driven a couple so can't comment a great deal but was a MUCH nicer engine to drive with than the TDI. Economy though, the TDI's take AGES to warm up so not great for short winter journeys or clearing the screen with the blowers but its a diesel so go on forever when warmed up! The 1.8T is more economical than I thought (according to Parkers its better than a Focus ST170 and a few other N/A alternatives with similar BHP figures!) so shouldn't be much difference than a 2.0 Escort. Maybe even better!
  9. Got a Fabia vRS at the mo.....looking at swapping for an MK1 Octavia vRS in the VERY near future!

    RS2000 Seats

errr yeah why not. Right, anyone on how to change to VAG group runners? is it something simple or...?

    RS2000 Seats

The newer R32 or R34 GTR seats would look completely ridiculous in an Octavia....its a sporty car but definately no sports car. Was kind of trying to keep the car looking relatively normal inside, but with MORE support in the bolsters. The MK4 Golf GTi Recaros were already an option due to plain simplicity, but really still wondering on the RS2000 Recaros

    RS2000 Seats

The good ol' Recaro's Anyone know what model Recaro they are? Looking at the current product range, I'm thinking its the Recaro Specialist S or the Expert L but could be wrong....or is it a model no longer made AT ALL. Failing that, how would one go about fixing a set of 2nd hand RS2000 seats into a VAG group car? I know that the runners would need to be changed, but whats involved or where would do this? Basically, I'm looking at getting an Octavia vRS MK1 but the seats are not as supportive as I'd like and finding a like-for-like direct swap from another VAG group car is difficult as the only seats that look supportive are rare as rocking horse rubbish or just look plain stupid. To give you an idea.... This is a standard Octavia vRS interior: http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu221/claytarget_god/Car%20Pics/HPIM0832.jpg These are the best like-for-like replacements I've found http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu221/claytarget_god/Car%20Pics/BILD0780.jpg Any help people?
  13. Been thinking of making the jump to a tropical tank because of the better variety of fish and just being able to have more fish per tank. I've looked around at the fish available at the fish shop several times and have really come to like the Red Line Torpedo Barb. Does anyone here have experience with them? I've already read a bit online and found out they're good for community tanks (which is what I would aim for) but are there any fish they CAN'T be kept with? I would be aiming to get Guppies, Platys, Tetras and Danios and then a couple of catfish. I would also love to get a Betta fish, but heard its not possible to keep with Guppies!
  14. Finally put my fish into my new tank: http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g55/Muppje/Fishies/28383_10150210287405297_618635296_1.jpg Fish stock: 1 Ryukin fantail 1 Redcap fantail 1 Calico fantail 1 Blackmoor 2 Yellow Comets I did have another Blackmoor and a Shubunkin but they both died strangely at the same time. The fish hadnt appeared stressed or fighting for food previously, and the water tested fine afterwards so I'm lost as to why they died. I made a few changes though http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g55/Muppje/Fishies/28383_10150210288255297_618635296_1.jpg Oh, and I wanna get another tank either the same size or bigger for some tropical fish!! woop woop!
  15. I put a Magnex on my first GTi and loved it! I then bought another GTi that had a Powerflow on it, which at first was ridiculously loud......I got used to it and even missed it when I swapped it for the Magnex I had. Was loud even at idle, but nice and raspy when booting it! Depends on my mood really, the Magnex when feeling fairly sensible but the Powerflow when just wanting balls out noise!
