  1. I personally use the Havoline 5 30(As mentioned above) its fully synthetic oil. Also I add an oil additive to help as mine is on a highish mileage lol.
  2. Go for some oil additive thats made for highish mileage. I always add an additive when changing my oil...Never seems to do any harm at all.
  3. Personally I always do a service with cars I get..Start with oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, leads etc even throw in a new petrol filter. Then try 10K and a bottle of redex. But to be fair, you ain't gonna get much performance outta 1.6L If you have the money etc Throw a 2L engine in.
  4. Its a tight fit but grab it with both hands and give it a rocking back and forth with a good bit of strength. Oh and a lot of cursing as you go. There is no real hint or tip just stick with it and it will come off. Had a good fight with mine too lol Good luck
  5. Call your local macrae and dick, give them the reg number and they will tell you the colour..Tis what I did.
  6. Sorted out thanx all...Black had to be grounded to car body.
  7. cheers for the replys. The instructions for the gauge itself is easy enough but on the sensor itself, only has a black wire and a white wire. On the instructions it states only 1 wire from the gauge goes to the sensor, but which one or do both black and white connect to the single wire from the gauge...Well lost lol
  8. Hi all, I bought a digital oil temp gauge and understand the fitting of the gauge. However I dont know what the black and white wire goes. Its doesn't state in the instruction where they go. Can anyone help? Thanx all.
  9. True but if you have a tourmallad green and tourmallard green, its hard to tell the difference. So if you can't post pic get in touch with ford it doesnt cost except the price of a call.
  10. Contact your local ford parts garage and give them your reg number and they tell you the colour.
  11. I personally stick with only bosch ones. Find they are the best.

    Mirrors

Hi folks, Quick question, I don't suppose the mk5 escort wing mirrors fit a mk6 by any chance without any modifications? Cheers
  13. I have just replaced 1 of the leds in my rear demister switch as it was fecked...Just went to maplin and got 3mm blue led. Easy enough to do, short leg to the (gold) metal contact and the long leg to the far side of switch (Mine had a resister there and soldered leg to end of resister) Hey presto, all sorted.
