  1. Right folks need the following folks in diamond white in as good condition as possible..... Pair of rear van doors - windows if possible Bonnet Front wings - both sides Bumper (fog version with fog lights if possible) Anyone has any parts let me know, must be willing to post to Northern Ireland with someone like parcel2go.com or senditnow.co.uk (who are happy with things just being wrapped up in bubble wrap or similar etc) Colin
  2. So what does £100 get you now days...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-01.jpg .....well a 2002 Rover 75 2.0 24v V6, in Connoisseur SE spec with 42,000 miles on it actually. Cruise control, full dual zone air con, electric rear privacy blind, auto dimming rear mirror.... the list is endless. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-15.jpg This is the plan for the 75 and ZT (Ireland) owners club to compete in the 2012 scaly rally to raise money for two charities, specificially two transplant Hospital units in Northern Ireland. Has a coolant issue, specifically its coolant in the oil, and I think the liners have dropped, so im hoping to get some Steal Seal mixed in with none OAT coolant (against spec), and just keep changing the oil. Car will be sorn for the next ten months or so, but its ready to rock with 9 months MOT left on it. LOL. Picked this up last night, and brought her home. Again, all of this is thanks to a 75zt member Dave who sold me the car for £100 knowing I plan to run the car in the 2012 scally rally around Ireland covering around 1000 miles in total wilst collecting money and getting sponsorship. Lets face facts, a £100 rover 75 with a engine issue, who would think it would do 1000 miles, never mind 10 miles lol. Well the car drives beautifully and she got home nicely, and then over heated in the driveway when I was examining it for too long, lmao. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-09.jpg Well ive spent some time on the car today exploring the faults and errors and listing problems as well as tidying up the interior with my steam cleaner. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-18.jpg The list of faults is massive with things like hanging door cards and a few electrical faults nut thats no fault of the previous owner David aka "gadgetboy" as he spent his whole time on the engine and has done a massive amount of work. Just because im picky as sin, I want it perfect on the inside and most of them wont cost me more than my time to sort, like the reversing sensors etc. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-25.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-40.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-44.jpg A massive thanks to another 75zt user Craig aka craig8661 who provided the front cloth sandstone seats for free and ive now got a free set of matching rears which need fitting also. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-41.jpg I think I can do enough repairs on the engine that wont require a complete rebuild for the distance of the rally, so going to attempt to source everything for the £75 in total aloud by the scally rally. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-31.jpg A detailed examination of the entire running gear of the car and such reveals no issues as such, and i mean no issues at all, even the notorious rear anti roll bar brushes are 100%, and all four tyres are practically new, lol. Springs arnt snapped on the bottom coil as I half expected at the rear so actually the car has zero running issues, every mechanical component is sound. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-29.jpg Theres even new brake discs and pads all round, only issue is the handbrake. However we can solve this issue now thankfully!!!! LOL. Sadly the bodywork is not as good as the photos make it seem but we arnt being picky if that makes sense, scrapes and dings everywhere and some lacquer lifting, but that inst what im after with this car anyways as im going to wrap it in vinyl myself. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-19.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-06.jpg I have plans once the rally is over to do a complete rebuild of the engine and teach myself the mechanicals of the KV6 engine, including how to do the infamous floating cams and timing belt setup in an effort to keep peoples cars on the road. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-42.jpg And for now she sleeps. Ive an 84 hour week this week http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover%2075/Rover75-48.jpg I will start updating as I go along, but I will be honest, I can see it being Halloween when i start work on her, as ive my own van to sort a few things on first of all. Id like to have the finished car matt black wrapped looking like this (I can DIY this myself) .... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/Rover75matt.jpg ....half hot rod, half godfather. Opinions?
  3. Not much been happening with my ZT bar driving it and showing it with the owners club. Done the big brake conversion now and it makes a huge difference, some engine plans over winter should transform the power figure but thats for during the snowy weather! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/MG%20ZT%202/223763_10150293904079233_714824232_7519730_2288363_n.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/MG%20ZT%202/225664_10150193251589233_714824232_6721489_6412609_n.jpg Also we had our Ireland national day, over 40 cars turned up, not bad for such an unloved brand, even got a V8 to turn up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/75zt%20event%202011/NIevent201109.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/75zt%20event%202011/S1058295.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/75zt%20event%202011/S1058294.jpg Photos for anyone who fancies a perve, lol. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Col...20event%202011/
  4. Well the van is progressing slowly. Not much getting done, rule being unless its a repair, only then is it modified or replaced. Ok so far, things are progressing slow with the Escort van, show stopper she wont be, but im just tidying as I go along. Got myself the Fiesta SI seats for 99p on ebay plus £12 postage (seller was RAGING lol), and id say they are almost better than Escort Recaros that ive had in my last Escort years ago. No photos of them in van handy, but heres what they look like. Was outta a 5 door so no tilt action on them, but thats dead on for a van. Plus set-up with airbag system dead simples. As for rest of van, well I had to replace the drop links, ball joints and wishbones myself (with help from a mate) so im getting there with learning what to do with cars. Sadly before this, they had gone so badly I had two tyres worn out within 800 miles, so i had to do something about tyres and a certain Sierra driving member got a pm about an old set of rims and wolla..... So set to work de-taring the van, and what happens, I forget to wipe the stuff of the bumper and now it looks like I had a tug over the plastic. Ah well, not the first time PVC has been permanently stained by me on mistake! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/thedirtyvan/14092011514-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/thedirtyvan/14092011513.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/thedirtyvan/14092011515.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/Colin/thedirtyvan/14092011516-1.jpg Had an inspection when the wishbones etc where being done and she is solid underneath, which is excellent news as these rot faster than Jordans boyfriends. So next up, full service (by spaz mechanic me hopefully) and then after that panel work to get her more respectable.
  5. Was indeed the brushes in the wishbones, so whole lot including drop links replaced.
  6. These are the ZR seats http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3029/post6newseatcleaneduppc5.jpg .... plus I wrote the definitive MG ZT buyers guide, never wrong lol Easist way to spy, only the ZT has the airbag label stitched into the "sports seats" in the MG range.
  7. MG ZT seats, specifically in Matrix Blue/Yellow trim. Do not try and wire up the airbags to the Escort, there are 6, yes, 6 separate incar BMW ecu's external of the seats which control their usage and it results in disaster if even one of them is faulty.
  8. Just went to examine it. When i drive forward it moves back into the arch, yet when I reverse it moves back to normal position. Everywhere in reverse then, lol. Must be lower end of arm, as springs arnt broke and shocks are rock solid, engine wont move etc.
  9. Just noticed this tonight. My drivers side wheel is sitting not central in the arch and is sitting furthur back into the wing closest to the door, its actually noticeable, id say maybe an inch and half further back to the other side. Now im going to change the wisbones/drop links/ball joints next friday as im getting the "jerk around when driving" feeling from them, but this has me slightly concerned. Is this likely to cure it? What else could cause this issue? Any help would be great!
  10. Thank you loads. How hard was it to do?
  11. Ok ive found a TDI Ghia X thats a 90bhp TDI. Now I need to know the complete list of parts I need to turn my TD into a TDI. They want the car for scrap value and arnt willing to give me the whole engine, just parts I can remove. Can anyone help me? I know I need the intercooler and also the underbonnet sound deadening thats shaped. Anyone? Been searching, no joy.
  12. Colin

    Van carpet

Thanks Dave, that works for me. Going to get same sound proofing at the same time and do it right. Thanks loads.
  13. Colin

    Van carpet

Does anyone know what of the mk6 3 door or 5 door carpet regarding seating positions etc will fit into the mk6 van with regards replacing the "waterproof" plastic death trap thats in the van already? Thanks folks.
  14. 316 has around 101 bhp as standard and about 115 torques, which in a car that weighs a bit more would give you roughly Escort 1.8 (none xr3i/gti) fun.
  15. Was that the "deep" wrc bumper or the standard depth version?
